About You and This Role
At Dow, our people are our greatest strength. We're looking for a People Relations Specialist to help create a positive employee experience by providing trusted HR guidance and resolving workplace concerns with fairness, consistency, and care.
In this role, you will partner with employees, leaders, and HR colleagues to address employee relations matters, provide coaching and policy guidance, and support effective resolution of workplace issues. You will also play an important role in supporting Dow's evolving HR service delivery model by promoting self-service resources, HR case management processes, and continuous service improvement.
Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor for site leadership, providing consultation and guidance on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, performance management, investigations, and organizational risk issues.
Own the end-to-end management of employee relations cases, ensuring timely, fair, and consistent resolution while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, company policies, and governance requirements.
Coach and influence leaders on employee relations decisions, corrective actions, performance concerns, conflict resolution, workplace conduct, and organizational change.
Conduct workplace investigations and support performance management and disciplinary processes.
Partner with Strategic HR Advisory, HR Operations, HR disciplines and other stakeholders to deliver integrated people solutions.
Coordinate and manage employee inquiries and escalations through Dow’s HR case management tool, ServiceNow.
Promote adoption of HR self-service resources, Knowledge Base (KB) Articles, People Services, and AI tools as appropriate.
Identify trends, recurring issues, and process improvement opportunities to strengthen HR service delivery.
Identify emerging employee relations risks, workforce trends, and workplace concerns, proactively engaging the appropriate HR disciplines and business leaders to mitigate risk and improve outcomes.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
Previous Human Resources experience.
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Labor Relations, or a related field.
Knowledge of Canada U.S. employment and labor laws.
Client-facing experience.
Previous labor relations experience.
Prior Workday experience.
Skills
Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze data and situations, make recommendations, and assist with implementation.
Relationship Management: Ability to build solid relationships with clients through expertise and consultation.
Interpersonal Communication: Excellent interpersonal effectiveness skills, including but not limited to effective two-way communication, and negotiation skills.
Employee Relations: Ability to provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
Change Management: Ability to partner with leaders and employees through organizational changes by facilitating communication, managing resistance, and supporting successful adoption of new processes and initiatives.
