Nevada State University actively maintains an open pool of qualified individuals to be selected on an as-needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Nevada State invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty for in-person courses in Anatomy and Physiology, such as BIOL 223 Human Anatomy and Physiology I and BIOL 224 Human Anatomy and Physiology II lecture and labs. The bulk of the students enrolling into these courses are primarily pre-licensure nursing students. Nevada State University is the only undergraduate program in the state to have human cadavers for dissection.

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1,160 per credit hour and $2,000 per credit hour for lab. Lectures are 3 credits and labs are 1 credit.

Required Qualifications:

• MS/MPH or terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D.) with a strong physiology background either as an undergraduate or at the graduate level.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Anatomy, Physiology, or Kinesiology.
• Terminal Degrees: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Chiropractor (DC), Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
• Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
• Previous teaching experience.
• Evidence of instructional effectiveness at the college/university level.
• Experience with cadaver and other dissections to lead dissection lab sessions
