Make a difference every day by joining CCRES as a part-time Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support the Attend School Avoidance Program through our partnership with the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU)!

SUMMARY:

The Attend Program provides comprehensive, evidence-based assessment and intervention services for school-age students experiencing school avoidant behavior and related anxiety concerns. The program works collaboratively with students, families, and school teams to identify the function of school avoidance, develop individualized intervention plans, and support evidence-based strategies that promote successful school attendance. The BCBA will conduct behavioral assessments, develop function-based support plans, provide parent/caregiver consultation, collaborate with school teams, and provide clinical oversight to Attend Program Specialists supporting students in the home and during school reentry.

Pay - $75-$79 per hour based on years of experience as a BCBA after BCBA certification (independent contractor / 1099)

Schedule: Part-time; schedule based on program and student needs. Morning availability is required, as FBAs and other assessment or consultation activities may occur in the home before the start of the school day.

Work Setting: Services may occur across Chester County (and surrounding areas) and may include student homes, school settings, CCIU locations, team meetings, and consultation activities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Behavioral Assessment and Intervention

  • Conduct behavioral assessments for students experiencing school avoidance and attendance-related concerns.
  • Complete barriers assessments, behavioral interviews, record reviews, direct observations, and other assessment activities needed to identify variables contributing to school avoidant behavior.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) for students with more complex school avoidance concerns, including observations and assessment activities that may occur in the home before the start of the school day.
  • Analyze behavioral and environmental data to identify the function of school avoidant behavior.
  • Develop individualized, function-based Positive Behavior Support Plans in collaboration with students, families, and school teams.
  • Develop measurable goals, data-collection procedures, and progress-monitoring systems to evaluate intervention effectiveness.

Direct Support and Clinical Oversight

  • Provide clinical oversight and behavioral guidance to Attend Program Specialists implementing individualized student support plans.
  • Support implementation of interventions within home, school, and school-reentry settings.
  • Provide modeling, coaching, feedback, and problem-solving support to staff.
  • Review behavioral and attendance data and modify interventions based on student progress.
  • Assist teams in developing individualized strategies to increase school attendance and successful participation in the educational environment.

Parent and Caregiver Consultation

  • Provide individualized consultation and training to parents and caregivers regarding strategies for addressing school avoidant behavior.
  • Support families in establishing routines, reinforcement systems, expectations, and other evidence-based interventions designed to increase successful school attendance.
  • Collaborate with families to identify barriers and develop practical strategies that can be implemented consistently within the home.

School and Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Collaborate with school psychologists, mental health professionals, special education staff, administrators, teachers, related service providers, and other members of the student's educational team.
  • Participate in student meetings to review assessment findings, present recommendations, and assist with intervention planning.
  • Provide consultation to school teams regarding implementation of behavioral strategies within the educational setting.
  • Promote consistency of behavioral supports across home and school environments.

Data Monitoring and Documentation

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of assessments, consultation, interventions, and student progress.
  • Collect, review, and analyze behavioral and attendance data to evaluate intervention effectiveness.
  • Use data to guide recommendations and adjustments to student support plans.
  • Complete required reports and documentation consistent with CCIU procedures and professional standards.

Professional and Ethical Practice

  • Provide services consistent with current evidence-based practices in applied behavior analysis.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards consistent with Board Certified Behavior Analyst requirements.
  • Maintain student and family confidentiality and comply with applicable federal, state, and organizational requirements.

Requirements

Skills:

  • Experience working with school-age students with behavioral, emotional, or mental health needs
  • Experience providing behavioral consultation, parent/caregiver training, and staff coaching
  • Experience collaborating with families, educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with school avoidance, anxiety-related behavior, or attendance concerns – preferred
  • Knowledge of special education processes, behavioral assessment, data-based decision making, and evidence-based behavioral interventions
  • Ability to work effectively across home and school settings

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, or related field – required
  • Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – required
  • Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and developing function-based Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) – required
