Department

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Compounds medications for outpatient sales and/or delivery to patient care areas. Handles and triages telephone/window inquiries. Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care. Coordinates insurance billing including third party prescriptions if/when in the retail setting. Uses appropriate systems for processing of patient information. Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy intern’s scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed. (90%)
• Collaborates with pharmacy leadership, peers, nurses, and providers to improve patient outcomes. Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements. (5%)
• Attends and participates in departmental meetings, in-services, huddles, and departmental trainings as applicable. (5%)

• High School Diploma or GED Active enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy Required

• PHARMIN-Pharmacy Intern - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required or
• PHAT-Licensed Pharmacy Technician - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required or
• PHATP - Provisional Pharmacy Technician License - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required

• Knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures.
• Mathematical computation skills.
• Organization and communication skills.
• Ability to work as a team member with attention to detail.
• Computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
