Work Shift

Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a PRN Ophthalmologist to provide comprehensive medical and surgical eye care services for patients across the continuum of care.

This physician will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions while supporting Wellstar's commitment to quality, safety, innovation, and patient experience.

Perform comprehensive ophthalmologic examinations and diagnostic evaluations.

Diagnose and treat eye diseases and disorders, including glaucoma, diabetic eye examinations, gradual decrease in vision, Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), Plaquenil screening, corneal ulcers, dry eye syndrome, and other vision-related conditions. Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient outcomes.

Educate patients and families regarding eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options.

Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Perform ophthalmic surgical and laser procedures as appropriate. Participate in a rotational hospital on call with other ophthalmologists.
