This is a 12 months contract role.

·         The Operational Compliance SME is responsible for reviewing and assessing customer due diligence information for new business and servicing requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk appetite. The role identifies and escalates potential financial crime, sanctions, fraud, and reputational risks, while providing recommendations on customer risk ratings and due diligence requirements. The SME supports ongoing monitoring, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement, SLA management, and continuous process improvement to enhance operational effectiveness and compliance standards.

Preferred skills

·         Proven knowledge of the life insurance and investment businesses, including products and internal administrative processes

·         Experience and knowledge across a variety of entity types, e.g. Financial Institutions, Quoted Companies, Private Companies, Partnerships, Trusts

·         Competent investigative research and follow-up skills

·         Possesses analytical skills including the ability to research and provide comprehensive information, findings and ability to conduct internal investigations as required

·         Excellent written and communication skills

·         Demonstrated ability to establish excellent team-oriented interpersonal working relationships; collaborative approach to problem solving and be willing to assist other members of the team as and when needed

·         Demonstrated ability to working in a deadline-oriented environment with multiple priorities

·         Strong time management skills

·         A high degree of competence in MS Excel and the ability to adapt to new technology systems and software

Qualifications

·         Recognized certificates in anti-money laundering, compliance, risk

·         3 – 5 Years work experience in anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing

Responsibilities

·         Review and assess Client Due Diligence (CDD) information and supporting documentation for new business applications and in-force servicing requests in line with risk appetite, policies, and procedures.

·         Identify and escalate potential money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, fraud, adverse media, and other financial crime risks.

·         Recommend appropriate due diligence measures, including Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and validate customer risk ratings.

·         Ensure CDD documentation meets regulatory requirements and internal standards.

·         Conduct ongoing monitoring, third-party due diligence assessments, and quality assurance reviews.

·         Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to provide guidance and support on CDD requirements.

·         Manage workflow priorities to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and operational objectives.

·         Support team meetings, projects, and departmental initiatives as a subject matter expert.

·         Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls, and customer experience.

·         Undertake additional duties and projects as required.
