The role requires someone who can manage multiple products and programs simultaneously at various stages, while ensuring documentation accuracy, compliance with regulations, and vendor performance metrics management.

Day to Day point person with all suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Oversee the management of Bills of Materials (BOM) for various projects and programs across different stages of development. Ensure that all BOMs are accurate, complete, and properly aligned with product specifications.
  • Product Life Cycle Management: Work with engineering and NPI teams to support products from the design phase through production release, ensuring smooth transitions between phases and managing materials throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Forecasting and Inventory Control: Provide accurate and timely forecasts to vendors based on current and future needs. Track and manage inventory levels, including parts, components, and assemblies, to ensure that manufacturing processes run smoothly without material shortages or excess stock.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with all regulations (e.g., environmental, safety) and maintain accurate records of transactions related to material purchases, shipments, and returns. Monitor and uphold company documentation standards for all procurement and material-related processes.
  • Multi-Tasking and Project Coordination: Effectively manage multiple products and programs at different stages, balancing competing priorities and working collaboratively across departments, including engineering, NPI, finance, and supply chain.
  • Procurement and Purchase Orders: Supervise the procurement process for various projects, including overseeing commodity purchases, pursuing multi-source solutions, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials.
  • Vendor Management and Performance Monitoring: Monitor vendor performance metrics and collaborate with vendors to resolve any issues related to lead times, order accuracy, and material quality. Work to improve vendor relationships and performance over time.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years in materials planning, supply chain logistics, procurement, or a related field with a focus on optical transceivers, photonics, lasers, optical electronics, PCBAs, or other electronics components. Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers is essential.
