East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH), part of LCMC Health, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our growing Hospital Medicine team as a Full-Time Nocturnist Hospitalist.

Position Highlights
- Full-time nocturnist schedule
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized patients
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult patients across a variety of medical conditions
- Collaborate closely with specialists, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and rapid patient assessments
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based inpatient medical care
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic medical conditions
- Coordinate care with consultants and interdisciplinary teams
- Complete patient encounters and documentation in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
Patient Access & Coverage
- Participate in an equitable physician call and coverage schedule
- Support patient throughput and continuity of care initiatives
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols and patient safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and accreditation requirements
Qualifications
Education
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Training
- Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program
Licensure & Certifications
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Louisiana medical license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Skills & Experience
- Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency with electronic medical records
- Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence
