Job Summary
Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit Staff Nurse / 36 Hours Variable RotationThe Staff Nurse will be responsible for: - Providing care for patients in Neuroscience ICU - Working collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment.
The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to patients in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU). The Registered Nurse works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide exceptional care to patients and their families in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with established Nursing Standards of Care and departmental policies.
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients with complex neurological and medical needs.
Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, initiative, and critical-thinking skills in the management of complex patient conditions.
Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and respond appropriately to ensure timely and effective interventions.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families regarding care, treatment, and ongoing needs.
Maintain a strong commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and excellence in nursing practice.
Assume accountability for the overall management and coordination of care for assigned patients.
Perform responsibilities in accordance with the Nursing Department’s Clinical Practice Manual and under the direction of the designated Nurse Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications
To qualify you must have:
- Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts
- For newly licensed nurses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
- 2 years current Neuro ICU experience required.
Other:
- Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is encouraged.
- Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract
