Summary of Role
We are seeking a reliable and professional Transport Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection, transportation, and delivery of products, materials, and medical samples. You will play a key role in maintaining high service standards, ensuring shipments are handled in accordance with regulatory requirements, operational procedures, and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled collection and delivery activities in line with service requirements.
- Verify shipment details and obtain proof of delivery documentation.
- Transport products, materials, and medical samples safely and securely.
- Follow route plans and temperature-controlled transport requirements where applicable.
- Communicate delivery progress, delays, and shipment exceptions promptly.
- Support loading, unloading, packaging, and labelling activities.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and report maintenance requirements.
- Assist with specialist transport assignments, including airport, transfer-point, and hand-to-hand deliveries.
Skills and Knowledge
- Full UK driving licence with a strong safety record.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to accurately complete transport documentation and records.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Understanding of road safety and transportation regulations.
- Professional and reliable approach to work.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a transport, courier, or delivery role.
- Experience handling healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical products.
- Knowledge of temperature-controlled transportation requirements.
- Familiarity with proof of delivery systems and handheld devices.
- Understanding of logistics and route planning processes.
- Experience working within a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of shipment tracking systems.
- Experience supporting time-critical delivery operations.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required. Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.What Cencora offers
