Materials & Logistics Lead- 2nd shift 2:30pm-10:30pm
Overview
The Materials & Logistics Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the warehouse while serving as the primary resource for warehouse team members. This position provides leadership, training, and day-to-day operational support to Materials & Logistics Coordinators and Warehouse Clerks, partnering closely with the Logistics Supervisor, Customer Service, and cross-functional teams to drive inventory accuracy, operational excellence, and outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead resource for daily warehouse operations, providing guidance and support to Materials & Logistics Coordinators and Warehouse Clerks.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members on warehouse processes, inventory management practices, systems, and safety standards.
- Coordinate and execute receiving, storage, inventory control, order picking, verification, and shipping activities.
- Process inventory and material transactions accurately within the ERP system.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through cycle counting and reconciliation activities.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipment issues, and order fulfillment challenges in a timely manner.
- Prioritize and coordinate daily workflow to meet customer requirements and operational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific packaging, labeling, and shipping standards.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Freight Forwarders, and internal stakeholders to support efficient material movement and on-time delivery.
- Support inventory audits and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions that increase warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and service performance.
- Assist the Logistics Supervisor with reporting, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.
Must Haves
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, shipping and receiving, inventory management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control practices, shipping processes, and receiving procedures.
- Experience using ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and mathematical skills.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using barcode scanners, labeling systems, scales, and other warehouse equipment.
Nice to Haves
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Previous experience leading, training, mentoring, or coaching warehouse associates.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of shipping software, freight coordination processes, and transportation logistics.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or technology-driven environment.
- Familiarity with inventory audit procedures and advanced inventory analysis.
