Job Description
The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate movement, storage, and distribution of materials. This role ensures that production teams have the materials needed to operate efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy, safety, and operational flow.
Key Accountabilities
- Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Load and unload trucks, verifying quantities and condition of shipments.
- Stage materials for production lines based on work orders and schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory through proper scanning, labeling, and documentation.
- Perform cycle counts and support physical inventory processes.
- Store materials in designated locations following established processes.
- Maintain clean, organized storage areas aligned with 5s principles.
- Operate material handling equipment safely, following all safety regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience as a material handler in manufacturing or warehouse
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment
- Knowledge of safety protocols
- Experience with inventory management systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
