The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, including operating forklifts, to support continuous production operations. The role includes material staging, inventory accuracy, and shipping/receiving activities, while ensuring full compliance with safety and operational standards within a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
You Will :
- Transport materials to and from loading docks, storage areas, production lines, and delivery vehicles using manual methods or material handling equipment.
- Follow written and verbal instructions to complete daily warehouse and material handling tasks efficiently.
- Receive, sort, mark, and stock cargo in designated locations, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation of all materials handled.
- Operate equipment such as sit-down forklifts, order pickers, tow motors, pallet jacks, and assistive devices to safely move or lift heavy items.
- Stage products for shipping, receiving, and lineside operations, preparing materials for transport and production needs.
- Perform quality inspections of incoming materials, maintain accurate inventory records, and cross-check shipping documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to company safety standards and general housekeeping practices.
- Work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and effective problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
You Bring:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (SAP preferred)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid forklift operator license/certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, tow motors, pallet jacks)
- Ability to comply with site safety requirements (PPE, speed limits, designated routes, etc.)
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing 10–50 lbs.
