Job Summary

Marketing Communications Project Specialist II leads the development and execution of detailed project plans in support of Corporate Communications initiatives and Community Foundation programs, ensuring alignment to key business and community priorities. This role may partner closely with Corporate Communications, the Community Foundation team, business stakeholders, and MarCom account managers to coordinate strategy, target audiences, and desired outcomes across diverse projects. It ensures timely, organized, and strategic execution of integrated marketing communications (IMC) campaigns and priority initiatives that deliver measurable impact for our customers, communities, and company. Primary responsibilities may include managing project timelines and budgets, coordinating cross functional teams, and providing operational and administrative support to strengthen communication, workflow, and execution across assigned initiatives. This role requires familiarity with AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to help generate, refine, and scale communications content while improving the efficiency, consistency, and repeatability of team workflows.

What you will do

• Supports the development of assigned long and short-term project plans including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources. Ensures assigned projects and initiatives align with and support the Corporate Communications strategy.
• Under a moderate level of guidance establishes and manages timelines in project management software, including oversight of associated workflows.
• Leverages CRM and workflow management systems to track project progress, coordinate the management of assets, monitor communications, and support reporting and documentation needs. Provides administrative support for assigned projects, including management of backend systems.
• Engages stakeholders to clearly define responsibilities and associated tasks, fostering alignment and accountability. Facilitates effective communication across teams and serves as a central point of contact when multiple resources are assigned to a shared initiative.
• Reviews quality control status throughout the development of a project to maintain desired standards.
• Collaborates with Account Manager to collect post-campaign data and conduct project analysis to report performance, insights, and recommendations.
• Collaborates with content owners and subject matter experts to organize, review, and refine communications materials, helping ensure messages are clear, accurate, and aligned with project objectives and brand standards. Ensures proper use of Alliant Energy trademarks and logos in internal and external materials.
• Utilizes approved AI-enabled and Large Language Model (LLM) tools and workflow technologies to support content development, summarization, documentation, and project administration while maintaining quality and consistency standards, such as Associated Press (AP).
• Identifies opportunities to enhance communication workflows and project processes and provides recommendations that improve efficiency, scalability, and stakeholder experience.
• Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.

Education Requirements

•  Bachelor’s Degree Marketing and/or Communications, or related field Preferred.

Required Experience

• 3 years of combined experience in marketing, communications, and project management Required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience using CRM, marketing automation, or workflow management systems (e.g. Workday, Hubspot, Microsoft Planner, Salesforce).
• Experience using approved generative AI or Large Language Model tools to support communications content and workflows.

Pay Range:

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
