Parameta Solutions is the Data & Analytics division of TP ICAP Group. The business provides clients with unbiased OTC content and proprietary data, in-depth insights across price discovery, risk management, benchmark and indices, and pre and post-trade analytics. Its post-trade solutions offering helps market participants control their counterparty and regulatory risks through a growing range of tools that manage balance-sheet exposure, as well as compression and optimisation services. The Data & Analytics division includes the following brands: Tullett Prebon Information, PVM Data Services, ICAP Information and Burton-Taylor Consulting.
Role Overview
Parameta Solutions is seeking a Market Data Engineer to support the delivery, distribution, and optimisation of real-time market data services. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of market data infrastructure, supporting both internal trading systems and external client/vendor connectivity.
The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with a proactive, service-oriented approach, working closely with stakeholders across technology, operations, and business teams to support critical market data services in a fast-paced financial markets environment.
Role Responsibilities
Support, maintain, and troubleshoot real-time market data platforms and distribution services.
Integrate, normalise, and deliver market data from internal trading systems, exchanges, and third-party vendors.
Monitor data quality, system performance, and service availability, ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of market data.
Develop and enhance automation tools for data ingestion, monitoring, deployment, and operational support.
Optimise infrastructure and processing pipelines to improve scalability, resilience, and low-latency performance.
Support connectivity with exchanges, vendor platforms, and electronic trading venues, including associated risk management systems.
Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative improvements.
Maintain documentation covering system architecture, operational procedures, and data flows.
Ensure compliance with exchange agreements, licensing obligations, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in out-of-hours support, including weekends and public holidays where required.
Experience / Competencies
Essential
3+ years' experience in Market Data Engineering, Market Data Support, Data Infrastructure, or a related technology role within financial services.
Experience supporting real-time market data platforms, vendor connectivity, or exchange data feeds.
Working knowledge of market data technologies such as Refinitiv RTDS/RMDS, Bloomberg, or other direct feed providers.
Proficiency administering and troubleshooting Linux and/or Windows environments.
Experience with scripting or automation using Python, Bash, Perl, TCL, or similar technologies.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, multicast, and low-latency environments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach to delivery.
Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
Desired
Knowledge of financial markets, trading workflows, and market data products.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Exposure to containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL, or time-series database technologies.
Knowledge of TREP, Refinitiv Enterprise Platform (RTP/TREP), FIX Market Data protocols, or related technologies.
Experience with market data monitoring platforms such as ITRS Geneos.
Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Workspace, BPIPE, or other enterprise market data products.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
