Job Description

We are looking for engineering professionals to join our MEVS team as a CME - Compartment Manufacturing Engineer for General Assembly at GMSA.

In this role, the person will serve as the Manufacturing Engineering interface with Product Engineering, ensuring product compliance with manufacturing requirements and GA strategies, while representing the single global ME voice for the assigned compartment.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in CITs to understand product design and communicate manufacturing requirements to Product Engineering, acting as the single global ME voice.
• Communicate product information and requirements to the ME execution team, MSIEs, and leadership.
• Reinforce compliance with GA strategies, including Bill of Process, BEC, and material strategies.
• Execute verification of compliance with manufacturing requirements in AUROS, documenting and tracking issues throughout the different phases of GVDP.
• Resolve issues with Product Engineering and Global Manufacturing Engineering in Working Calls, escalating deviations in Leadership Calls when required.
• Lead virtual studies and assessments at program virtual synch points and as needed throughout GVDP.
• Perform virtual analyses according to the program loadcase list, using 3D visualization software (Teamcenter Vismockup).
• Participate in program-level L2 / L3 PFMEAs and represent Manufacturing Engineering in DFMEAs.
• Participate in Peer Reviews with Product Engineering.
• Document process and tooling requirements for regional execution, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with global standards across executing plants.
• Support the identification and evaluation of ergonomic issues related to the plant and production environment together with the regional ergonomist.
• Develop and communicate the program virtual build sequence in the 3D environment.
• Participate in the PVB build phase at AIC or virtually, according to program strategy, as well as in APPV, PPV, and MVBns builds at the receiving plant.
• Act as co-chair in the IRT and support the PRTS resolution process.
• Address deviations related to MRs - Manufacturing Requirements with the tech specialists of the affected subsystems, aligning with program coordination, the execution team, RQME, and the launch team.
• Work with AIC to provide and validate processes and equipment as the first M&E prototype.

Mandatory requirement:

• Engineering degree
• Active CREA
• Fluency in English
• Availability to work at the technology center in SCS

Desirable requirement:

• Knowledge of Vismockup, NX, AutoCAD, MPD (Master Process Document, used to support standardized work), STDS (Standard Time Data System, used to search and apply standard time data/charts for operations and process analysis), and TeamCenter
• Spanish
• Experience in tool design and virtual build
• AI literacy
