Reporting to the Director of Operations, EMEA, the Manager Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) is responsible for ensuring that Videojet Technologies Europe B.V.’s operations comply with applicable safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations and standards. As a member of the Management Team, you will play a critical role in building a strong SHEQ culture, driving continuous improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence across our distribution and manufacturing operations. This role is based in De Meern, Netherlands.
Videojet Technologies Europe B.V. operates across two key areas:
- Distribution of high-quality coding and marking equipment and related supplies to customers across EMEA.
- Production of a broad portfolio of inks designed to meet specific customer requirements, from food-grade to technical applications.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Lead Safety, Health and Environment activities, ensuring compliance with RI&E requirements, applicable legislation, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and EHS policies and procedures.
- Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives, including pollution prevention, waste and energy reduction, EED, ISO 14001, ESG, and CSRD-related activities.
- Lead Quality management, ensuring adherence to ISO and internal standards, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions, and maintaining audit and inspection documentation.
- Oversee laboratory activities, including laboratory equipment, testing, and the management of recipes and item setup for inks, make-ups, and cleaners.
- Lead and develop a team of three Quality professionals, while mentoring production and warehouse teams on SHEQ topics and coordinating mandatory safety training.
- Partner across the organization as a member of the Management Team, including supporting crisis management and business continuity, leading the Safety Health Wellbeing and Environment (VGWM) committee, and acting as a liaison with the Works Council and other stakeholders.
- Act as a back-up for the Production Manager during periods of holiday or sickness.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of SHEQ/EHS and/or Quality experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; experience in printing, coding and packaging, chemical, or food industries is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience implementing EHS programs, conducting audits, risk assessments, and managing regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and quality management systems, including experience working with ISO standards.
- Experience with management systems, ATEX, and digital EHS platforms such as Cority or Gensuite is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English and Dutch.
