Job Summary

Summary:
Manage day-to-day logistical support operations and staff. Monitor departmental parts and repair budgets, making cost-effective decisions and recommendations through oversight and approvals. Oversee vendor contracts and service agreements. Work with department leadership and others to plan and execute operational strategies for shipping/receiving and staging logistics and improvements to our support services. Manage our departmental support space plan for optimizing needs. Mentor and develop operations support staff. Participate in and/or lead department and entity-based committees and teams. Leads projects, processes and staff for operations support of the department.

Essential Functions

-Manage the operations support team resources, including inventory coordinators and dispatch support team members.

-Responsible for program management of parts, shipping, logistics, and equipment storage solutions.

-Work with technician team leaders to ensure that parts and supplies inventory is kept current to efficiently support the maintenance and repair needs of medical equipment.

-Work with engineers and engineering managers to scope and plan for the logistical needs of engineering projects.

-Work with vendors, hospitals, and other resources to identify areas for improvement. Assess and prioritize areas and evaluate and analyze options. Implement or make recommendations for improvements.

-Develop and monitor performance metrics for operational processes. Communicate standards and ensure adherence by staff.

-Serve as project manager for projects involving operational support systems, programs, and technologies. Develop project plans to outline, document, and direct project and staff.

-Work with department directors to plan department, operations, logistics, and support needs to support efficiency across the department. Develop budgets, inventory, and talent to support these needs.

 

Education Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required or Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience Progressively more responsible experience in hospital support department of biomedical services or operations 5-7 years required and Experience as a manager overseeing technical or operational support staff 2-3 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - People management skills, including motivation, monitoring, and feedback, are needed in addition to routine staff management abilities in planning, development, and human resources administration. - Must be able to work within a management team and share ideas and feedback openly. - Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills. - Strong project management skills. - Good knowledge of the principles of organization and management. - Good written and oral communication skills. - General familiarity with healthcare operations and services. - Ability to teach technology to clinical and non-clinical staff. - Must also be able to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with vendor personnel.
