Defines, plans, implements and optimizes central operational processes, systems, and procedures, working in collaboration with internal and external business partners to create the best practice operations in the industry.

Oversees the implementation, updates, administration and monitoring of the centralized practice management software used at all Ventures practices – additionally, oversees the management of the practices’ prior software until changed.

Drives care-focused efficiencies, best practices, and highest quality eye care across Ventures practices in partnership with other internal and external business partners.

Works closely with business partners to create process innovation in all areas of supply chain planning & operations while building efficiencies and scale across the business.

Manages and drives the continual improvement of supply chain, centralized software and hardware, vendor management, and PMS software.

Oversees and forecasts additional employee needs as Ventures grows and expands locations.

Defines, implements and ensures product price and availability optimization analysis. 

Establishes clear, concise market differentiation from competitors through efficiencies, service, patient focus, and overall expertise.

Manages within department budget and assesses growth needs in alignment with practice acquisitions.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of 3 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of direct reports

Demonstrated knowledge of third-party plan configuration and direct experience in revenue cycle management and insurance credentialing

Familiar with optical industry practices and procedures

Demonstrated understanding of point of sales (POS) systems and inventory management 

Strong business acumen including experience working with KPI’s and other performance metrics

Experience in the optometric industry with a strong understanding of optical office flow, optical software, planning and supply chain management

Proven experience managing external vendors, employees and products at multiple locations

Demonstrated ability to supervise and effectively communicate changes in the work place

Demonstrated ability to develop plans to accommodate growth

Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve work processes

Highly organized and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities

Must be self-motivated and driven toward achievement of long-term goals

Must be able to develop, work against, and meet tight and aggressive deadlines and goals

Ability to travel 30% of the time

For roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFH)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a VSP location and WFH), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment.
