What is the role?
The Manager, Financial Operations will lead the day-to-day execution of financial close operations, multi-partner reconciliation, data pipeline governance, and operational reporting within Roku's Revenue Infrastructure function. This role owns the hands-on delivery of reconciliation workflows, journal entry execution, exception management, data quality assurance, and operational analytics that underpin Commerce Platform financial integrity. Operating as the execution arm of the Financial Systems & Controls pillar, this leader ensures that month-end close, daily reconciliation, partner settlement validation, and financial data operations are completed accurately, on time, and with full auditability. The role manages a team of Financial Operations Analysts and partners closely with Revenue Accounting, Treasury, Platform Engineering, and Payment Operations to deliver reliable, scalable financial operations across the Commerce ecosystem. This role bridges the gap between strategic financial architecture and the analyst-level execution that delivers production outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong operational execution discipline with financial systems knowledge, SQL/Python proficiency, reconciliation expertise, and people management experience in high-volume commerce, payments, fintech, or subscription environments.
How will I use AI at Roku?
At Roku, we don't just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability.
We value curious, adaptable builders, who can show how they've used AI, agents, or automation to move faster, improve quality, and scale their impact. Strong candidates know how to frame problems, guide AI-assisted work, check the output, and learn quickly. Above all, they bring curiosity, adaptability, and sound judgment.
What are the responsibilities of the role?
- Oversee and review the team's end-to-end month-end and quarter-end financial close for Commerce Platform revenue, liabilities, and partner payables — own the close calendar, priorities, and on-time completion
- Direct and review the team's execution and validation of automated journal entries across revenue recognition, deferred revenue, chargebacks, and partner settlements; ensure posting failures are investigated and resolved
- Partner with Revenue Accounting and Treasury to resolve close blockers, inter-company settlements, and timing differences; represent the team in US / PST close reviews
- Ensure the team maintains close checklists, run books, and process documentation, and that SOX evidence packages are complete and audit-ready
- Oversee the team's daily and monthly multi-partner reconciliation workflows across authorization-to-settlement, settlement-to-payout, and bank reconciliation
- Review, triage, and prioritize reconciliation breaks, exceptions, and discrepancies; ensure the team resolves them within SLAs
- Monitor exception aging trackers and drive resolution, escalating to payment processors, banks, and internal teams as needed
- Guide root-cause investigation on recurring breaks; review the team's findings and approve process fixes for implementation
- Oversee partner onboarding into reconciliation workflows against readiness criteria and acceptance standards
- Direct the team's build and maintenance of operational dashboards (Looker / Tableau) tracking reconciliation status, exception rates, close timelines, and pipeline health; review them for accuracy
- Review and present weekly and monthly operational status reports to leadership — exception aging, SLA performance, pipeline uptime
- Direct ad-hoc analytical support for financial investigations, partner disputes, and settlement discrepancy research; review outputs before they reach stakeholders
- Ensure the team executes SOX control activities for owned financial workflows; review control steps, evidence, and test results
- Oversee preparation and delivery of audit evidence packages for internal and external audit requests within required timelines; act as the primary point of contact
- Review day-to-day processes for control gaps and operational risks; escalate for framework-level decisions
- Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) with clear RACI ownership are maintained for all operational workflows
- Set clear expectations and allocate daily workload across reconciliation, close, data operations, and reporting; follow up and track every deliverable to closure
- Review and quality-check the team's deliverables (reconciliations, journals, dashboards, reports) before release — hold the bar on accuracy, timeliness, and documentation
- Drive skill development in SQL, Python, financial analysis, and reconciliation methodologies; conduct regular one-on-ones and career development conversations
- Run daily connects / standups with the India team, plan and track work, remove blockers, and ensure operational continuity during US business hours
- Proactively identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone areas and direct the team to build automation (Python scripts, Airflow DAGs, SQL procedures) that reduces toil
- Champion AI adoption within the team — leverage AI tools to accelerate development, surface patterns in data, and improve productivity
- Define and track monthly KPIs and performance metrics for the team — throughput, error rates, SLA adherence, and automation coverage
- Foster an analytical, data-driven mindset — encourage hypothesis-driven investigation, evidence-based decisions, and connecting the dots across workflows
- Build a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing — ensure processes are organized, repeatable, and not dependent on any single individual

What should I know about Roku's culture?
Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We're independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.
We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
