Sobre esta vaga de Manager, Cyber Defense Fusion Center na CME Group
We are seeking an experienced people leader to serve as the Manager of our Bangalore Cyber Defense Fusion Center. In this crucial regional leadership role, you will oversee our highly advanced Cyber Defense Response, Monitoring, and Intelligence teams. While the global technical vision and roadmap are established by senior technical managers, you will be the driving force ensuring your teams execute on these objectives locally.
You will act as the local Incident Commander during major security events, utilizing your deep technical understanding to drive rapid decision-making without needing to be hands-on-keyboard. This role operates within a global "follow-the-sun" model, taking the baton from the US and passing it to the UK. You will be granted significant autonomy to build, mentor, and expand the Bangalore center, scaling the team from an initial 9 members to an anticipated 12-15 highly skilled engineers and analysts.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Leadership & People Management
Lead, coach, and manage performance for the Bangalore-based Cyber Defense teams, acting as their primary people leader and advocate.
Exercise high autonomy in local hiring decisions, conducting in-person interviews to ensure candidates are a strong cultural and technical fit as the team expands.
Manage regional vendor relationships and oversee the localized vendor and operations budget.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment for engineers and analysts, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
Champion operational resilience and sustainability. Prevent analyst burnout in high-pressure environments through robust rotation planning, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
Global Operations & Incident Command
Serve as a local Incident Commander during major security incidents, coordinating the response, driving technical decisions, and managing executive communications.
Ensure seamless daily operations within our "follow-the-sun" model, managing the critical, detailed operational handoffs between the US, Bangalore, and UK teams.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the cybersecurity tools, platforms, and technologies utilized by the teams (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, TIP) to effectively unblock technical hurdles and guide response strategies.
Act as a strategic advisor to global leadership, contributing key insights from Bangalore to help shape the enterprise-wide Cyber Defense roadmap, tool selection, and operational policies.
Cultivate and manage relationships with cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Corporate Communications, and IT Leadership. Serve as the primary point of contact for these groups during high-severity incidents, ensuring clear, non-technical reporting and timely decision-support.
Technical Execution & Delivery
Partner closely with global technical managers and the Sr. Director to ensure the Bangalore teams are successfully executing against the established global technical vision and roadmap.
Maintain a strong architectural understanding of the AI, Machine Learning, and automation frameworks the team is building, allowing you to effectively guide the team and answer operational questions.
Ensure the team follows through on deliverables and adheres to global engineering standards as they implement automations, threat intelligence integrations, and advanced detection mechanisms.
Drive a "continuous improvement" mindset by institutionalizing post-incident reviews (blameless post-mortems), ensuring that lessons learned are translated into automated detections and procedural updates.
Qualifications & Skills
8+ years of progressive experience in Cybersecurity, Incident Response, or Security Operations, with at least 5+ years of direct experience in a people management or leadership role.
Proven experience acting as an Incident Commander during major breaches or high-severity security events, with the ability to confidently drive technical decisions under pressure.
Strong conceptual understanding of modern security architectures, including SIEM, EDR, SOAR, cloud security, and the integration of AI/ML into security workflows.
Experience operating within and managing teams in a global "follow-the-sun" operational model.
Demonstrated track record of successful team building, including autonomous hiring, budget management, coaching, and conducting performance reviews.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies for both engineering teams and executive leadership.
Formal Education & Certifications
BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or Information Systems is a plus.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GSEC, GCIH, GCFE, GCFA, GNFA, GREM (or related knowledge/experience) are desired.
