The primary objective of this role is to own, drive and support ASX’s Cash Equities offering covering strategy, revenue, market structure initiatives and customer outcomes across ASX Trade.
- The role will work closely with ASX Participants and vendors, trading and execution desks, technology, operations, compliance and commercial teams.
- You will bring strong knowledge of Cash Equities, including order types, trade reporting, execution workflows and the needs of participant trading desks.
- You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to one of Australia’s most important financial market infrastructures.
- You’ll be supported by a close-knit, commercially focused and highly experienced Markets Product and Platform team.
What you’ll do:
- Work within the Markets Product Management team, you will be responsible for owning and delivering product strategy, customer outcomes and commercial (PnL) performance across ASX’s Cash Equities business.
- Shape the Cash Equities product roadmap, including initiatives relating to ASX Trade functionality, market structure, order types, trade types, trading sessions, fee schedules and execution workflows.
- Act as a key product contact for ASX Participants, with regular engagement across trading, dealing, execution and market structure teams.
- Translate participant and customer feedback into clear product requirements, business cases, market analysis and prioritised recommendations.
- Develop a deep understanding of liquidity, execution quality, market data, trading behaviour and participant needs across ASX’s cash equities market.
- Prepare analysis, presentations and briefing material for senior management, internal governance forums, regulators, industry groups and external stakeholders.
- Partner with Technology, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Sales, Platform and Distribution teams to support delivery of product enhancements and market change initiatives.
- Monitor domestic and international market structure developments and assess implications for ASX’s Cash Equities product offering.
- Support consultation processes, customer communications and implementation planning for changes impacting ASX Participants and cash equities trading workflows.
What you’ve done:
- Demonstrated experience in cash equities trading, execution, market structure, product management, sales trading, operations, technology or a related markets function.
- Strong working knowledge of ASX Trade, including order types, trade types, market phases, execution mechanics and participant trading workflows.
- Established a network across ASX Participants, particularly trading, dealing, execution and market structure desks.
- Experience converting customer insights, data and market observations into commercial recommendations and product outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, business, commerce, law, technology or a related discipline.
- Ability to source, interpret and present data-driven analytics to support decision-making, stakeholder engagement and product prioritisation.
- Confident communicator with experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and market participants.
And if you’ve got some of this, even better:
- Direct experience on, or supporting, a participant trading or execution desk.
- Experience with electronic trading, algorithmic execution, smart order routing, liquidity provision or market making in cash equities.
- Data analytics experience, including SQL, Python, visualisation tools or market data analysis.
- Project delivery experience across trading platform, market structure or regulatory-change initiatives.
- Exposure to working with regulators, industry bodies or formal market consultation processes.
