As a Roving Maintenance Officer, you’ll play an important role in maintaining safe, welcoming and well-presented environments across four St Vincent’s Care Services homes in Victoria. Working as part of a dedicated team, you’ll provide hands-on maintenance support across our Kew, Eltham, Werribee and Hawthorn facilities, helping ensure our homes are safe, functional and comfortable for our residents, staff and visitors.

This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different environments, can confidently manage competing priorities and takes pride in keeping facilities operating at their best. You’ll need to be comfortable travelling between our four homes and working flexibly to respond to maintenance needs across the region.

Things that work for us:

  • Trade qualifications in carpentry, plumbing or a related trade are preferable.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or property services.
  • Ability to perform a broad range of general maintenance and repair works.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to problem solve and respond to maintenance requests professionally and promptly.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise and manage your own schedule across multiple locations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between our four Victorian homes – Kew, Eltham, Werribee and Hawthorn.
  • Aged, Health or Community Care experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and sound computer skills.
  • Understanding of Aged Care, resident rights and responsibilities and the importance of maintaining safe, respectful and resident-focused environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (within 6 months).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.

Things that work for you:

  • Competitive salary packaging options up to $15,990, Novated Leasing, plus an optional Meals and Entertainment card up to $2,650 per annum.
  • Opportunity to work for the nation’s largest Catholic not-for-profit health and aged care provider, with a rapidly growing and progressive vision.
  • Variety and flexibility through a roving role across four Victorian locations.
  • Friendly team environment with a great community care spirit.
  • The opportunity to make a visible and meaningful impact across multiple care environments.
  • No-cost uniforms and training.
  • Free annual flu vaccination.
  • Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families.
  • Access to the Fitness Passport (FP).

Why become part of the St Vincent’s Care family?

Because you’re like us – you believe that every act of kindness makes the world a better place. Better for everyone who lives in the 20+ facilities and locations we operate in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. Better for all our staff and employees, who work tirelessly to provide the highest levels of care and quality of life for our clients. And better support for the local communities we play an important role in and continue to support.

For more than 175 years, St Vincent’s Care Services (SVCS) has been a leading Catholic provider of Aged Care Services in Australia, and the legacy of compassion, justice, integrity and excellence entrusted to us by the Sisters of Charity and their Founder Mary Aitkenhead continues to inspire our work today.

Our spiritual and hospital-based heritage has taught us that wellness is about more than medical needs. It’s about building a true partnership around trust and respect. That’s why we take a person-centred approach – delivering holistic, individual care that achieves wellbeing for mind, body and spirit.

At St Vincent’s, we value inclusivity and diversity and recognise the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, safe, fair and impartial. We invite people from all backgrounds to join our caring family.
