At our organization, every vehicle plays a critical role in connecting people to what matters most. As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead a skilled maintenance team responsible for ensuring our fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently every day.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys developing teams, solving operational challenges, and driving a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Fleet Maintenance Leadership
Lead, coach, and support a team of technicians and maintenance personnel.
Ensure fleet vehicles are maintained and repaired to meet operational requirements and minimize downtime.
Prioritize maintenance activity based on business needs and vehicle availability.
Monitor shop productivity, repair quality, and work completion timelines.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all vehicles meet applicable DOT, state, local, and company safety requirements.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Conduct routine fleet inspections and preventive maintenance reviews.
Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout the maintenance operation.
Parts & Inventory Management
Manage parts inventory and ensure adequate stock levels to support maintenance needs.
Coordinate vendor relationships and parts procurement.
Monitor maintenance expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Operations & Continuous Improvement
Partner with mechanics, operators, drivers, dispatchers, and leadership teams to support daily operations.
Ensure vehicles are properly equipped and ready for service each day.
Assist with implementing fleet management systems, technology, and process improvements.
Analyze maintenance trends and recommend solutions to improve fleet reliability and performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum three (3) years of progressive fleet, diesel, transportation, or vehicle maintenance experience.
Minimum one (1) year of supervisory, lead, or management experience.
Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and vehicle repair processes.
Ability to effectively prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency using maintenance management software, email, and Microsoft Office applications.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing bus, transportation, commercial vehicle, or heavy-duty fleet maintenance operations.
Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA maintenance compliance requirements.
CDL or ability to obtain one.
ASE certifications or other industry-related certifications.
