What you'll do

The Logistics Coordinator supports the execution of inbound international shipments from global vendors to FGL Distribution Centres. Working within established SOPs, this role coordinates freight movements, validates shipping documentation, supports customs clearance activities, and assists with delivery scheduling and issue resolution.

This is an individual contributor role focused on operational execution, accuracy, and timely follow‑up, with increasing ownership as experience develops.

Vendor & Shipment Coordination

• Support vendor onboarding and ensure compliance with inbound logistics processes
• Monitor purchase order bookings and follow up on missing or late vendor actions
• Review booking details in VMS for accuracy (POs, quantities, destination DC)
• Confirm cargo delivery to origin facilities and receipt of FCRs

Freight & Shipment Execution Support

• Track inbound shipments across ocean, air, and rail transportation
• Monitor vessel schedules and flag potential delays or risks to senior team members
• Assist with prioritization of urgent or time‑sensitive shipments
• Update shipment status and milestones in logistics systems

Documentation & Compliance Support

• Receive and review shipping documents for completeness and basic accuracy, including:
  • Commercial Invoices
  • Packing Lists
  • Certificates of Origin and supporting trade documents
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrections with vendors or internal teams
• Prepare documentation packages for submission to customs brokers

Customs Clearance Assistance

• Forward arrival notices and required documents to customs brokers
• Track clearance status and follow up on missing or outstanding documentation
• Assist with B3 and brokerage invoice reviews under guidance

DC Delivery & Receiving Coordination

• Support ASN generation and ensure timely transmission
• Prepare Shipping Reference Requests (SRRs) for DC delivery appointments
• Track rail and trailer movements to final DCs
• Follow up on pending appointments and delivery confirmations

Financial & Administrative Support

• Assist with freight and accessorial invoice validation
• Track chargebacks, credits, and supporting documentation
• Maintain accurate shipment records and filing in shared systems
• Support detention and demurrage validation through data collection

Exception Handling & Learning Exposure

• Manage non‑standard shipments (Europe, air freight, special commodities such as: Bikes, Kayaks and DG)
• Escalate issues promptly with clear documentation and status updates
• Build foundational knowledge of international freight and import processes

What you bring

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain concepts
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, systems, and tracking tools
• Willingness to learn international trade and customs processes
• Financial acumen related to freight costs, invoices, and charge validation
