Team Overview
The Hong Kong Legal Team provides practical, business-focused legal support that enables sustainable growth, manages regulatory risk, and protects the company's interests across Hong Kong and the broader APAC region. The team currently comprises two senior lawyers, including one lawyer supporting both Hong Kong and the Philippines, with additional operational support from a Legal Operations Associate based in the Philippines. Reporting to the Hong Kong Legal Team, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior legal professionals and cross-functional stakeholders, gaining broad exposure to commercial, corporate, compliance, and operational legal matters in a dynamic international environment. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Legal Executive / Paralegal supports the efficient delivery of legal services by managing legal operations, coordinating commercial contracting activities, supporting corporate governance and compliance initiatives, and maintaining effective legal processes. This role helps reduce legal and operational risk, improve business efficiency, and enable internal stakeholders to make informed business decisions while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the review, preparation, execution, and administration of commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), vendor agreements, customer contracts, and related legal documentation to facilitate business operations and growth.
- Manage contract lifecycle activities, including document filing, version control, execution tracking, records management, and reporting to improve operational efficiency and legal oversight.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research and prepare summaries, memos, and supporting materials to assist legal counsel in providing timely advice to business stakeholders.
- Coordinate corporate governance and company secretarial matters, including maintaining statutory records, preparing corporate documentation, and supporting regulatory filings where required.
- Assist with data privacy, compliance, and regulatory initiatives by organizing documentation, monitoring obligations, and supporting implementation of legal and policy requirements.
- Review external-facing communications, marketing materials, and other business content to help ensure alignment with legal, regulatory, and brand requirements.
- Maintain and update legal templates, knowledge resources, trackers, policies, and standard procedures to support consistency, efficiency, and risk management across the organization.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including business, product, compliance, finance, human resources, and regional legal teams, to facilitate efficient legal operations and timely resolution of legal matters.
- Support the management of external counsel, legal vendors, invoices, and administrative processes to ensure effective utilization of legal resources and budget management.
- Assist with special projects, strategic initiatives, and other legal matters as assigned by the legal team.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience as a Legal Executive, Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or similar legal support professional.
- Demonstrated experience supporting commercial contracting and legal document management in either an in-house legal department or law firm environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) to effectively support stakeholders across Hong Kong and the region.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, to support legal documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting corporate governance, company secretarial, compliance, or regulatory matters.
- Familiarity with data privacy and information governance requirements.
- Experience working in a multinational corporation, financial services, technology, data, or professional services environment.
- Knowledge of contract lifecycle management, legal operations, or legal matter management systems.
- Experience coordinating with cross-border stakeholders and regional legal teams.
- Familiarity with legal technology tools, document management platforms, and workflow automation solutions.
- Ability to analyze legal documents and identify operational or compliance risks.
