About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product & Valuation Control analyst to join the Controller’s organization within Finance. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of valuations across complex commodity derivative products through independent price verification, valuation control, and risk analytics. The position highlights strong technical expertise, analytical rigor, and the ability to lead initiatives that strengthen risk management frameworks and support regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will:

• Execute and oversee monthly IPV processes for Equity Derivatives, including listed and OTC options, variance swaps, equity swaps, forwards, structured notes, convertible products, and exotic derivatives.
• Perform independent validation and challenge of equity spot prices, dividend assumptions, correlation inputs, volatility surfaces, borrow rates, and other market data used in valuation models.
• Review and validate volatility surface construction, calibration methodologies, skew assumptions, and model inputs across single-stock, index, and multi-asset products.
• Assess valuation uncertainty and implement valuation adjustment methodologies, including Bid/Offer, Model Valuation Adjustments (MVA), Concentration VA, and other valuation adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Value Hierarchy requirements, including Level 2 and Level 3 classification assessments and supporting documentation.
• Investigate valuation differences, IPV exceptions, and pricing disputes with Front Office, Product Control, and Market Risk teams.
• Lead moderately complex initiatives related to valuation analytics, IPV enhancements, and valuation control automation.
• Analyze valuation trends, IPV results, reserve movements, and key valuation risks across Equity Derivatives portfolios.
• Aggregate, reconcile, and report valuation metrics for senior management, valuation committees, auditors, and regulators.
• Prepare monthly IPV results, valuation adjustment reporting, Fair Value Hierarchy disclosures, and valuation governance packages.
• Develop and enhance analytical tools, dashboards, and reporting capabilities to improve efficiency and transparency.
• Ensure compliance with internal valuation policies, regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and model governance frameworks.
• Support internal audit reviews, regulatory examinations, and valuation-related inquiries from external stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of valuation methodologies, IPV procedures, valuation adjustments, and governance controls.
• Partner with Model Risk Management to evaluate model limitations, assumptions, and ongoing validation requirements.
• Partner closely with Front Office Trading, Quantitative Research, Market Risk, Product Control, Finance, and Technology teams.
• Lead valuation control initiatives supporting new product approvals, model implementations, and business expansion.
• Mentor junior valuation controllers and analysts while promoting best practices across the valuation control function.
• Drive strategic automation efforts to improve valuation transparency, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of product and valuation control experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Independent Price Verification, Market Risk, or related financial control functions.
• Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, control and risk frameworks.
• Experience working with Equity Derivative markets and products, specifically Vanilla and Exotics.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with trading desks, senior management, auditors, and regulators.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, and Python.
• Proficient in Equity Derivatives, with expertise in validating volatility surfaces, dividend curves, correlation matrices, and other complex model inputs across Equity Derivative products.
• Familiarity with market data and valuation vendors including S&P Global - Totem, RVS, Bloomberg, Reuters.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with Fair Value Hierarchy, FVH, and Level 3 valuation governance.
