As a Lead Tech Operations Consultant, you will play a key role in developing a strategic approach to enable a high performing organization through increased operational efficiency, budget and resource management, continuous learning efforts, and team effectiveness. Your core responsibilities will include the following:

• Drive operational intelligence by partnering with teams to analyze key tech metrics, identify trends, and surface actionable insights against goals
• Lead strategic operational initiatives aligned to portfolio priorities, driving measurable improvements in efficiency, planning, and execution
• Influence strategy development by synthesizing data, insights, and cross-functional input to inform direction and tradeoffs
• Own the definition and evolution of portfolio health, establishing clear measures across:
  • Financial (capital investment, L&M, resourcing)
  • Operational (reliability, security, compliance)
• Drive end-to-end financial operations ensuring alignment to contract terms by providing financial oversight across a complex portfolio of investments including; purchase orders, invoicing, forecasting, accruals, amortization, reconciliations, variance analysis, and spend reporting.
• Translate financial and operational data into decision-ready insights, including scenario planning and recommendations to adjust tactics and meet goals
• Identify systemic patterns, emerging risks, and forward-looking opportunities to proactively improve how the business operates
• Design and evolve operational routines to drive accountability, alignment, and clarity across leadership forums
• Create clear, executive-ready narratives that enable leadership to quickly understand system health, risks, and required actions
• Drive continuous improvement and process optimization, establishing and scaling best practices that improve team effectiveness and throughput
• Partner with Finance to connect financial processes to decision-making, ensuring teams are prepared for reviews and aligned to enterprise expectations
• Influence across the organization, building strong relationships and driving alignment with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
• Provide strategic process consultancy, ensuring consistency while evolving processes to better support execution and outcomes
• Lead identification and implementation of efficiency gains across teams, improving capacity, reducing duplication, and optimizing operations
• Advance supplier strategy and engagement practices, identifying opportunities to better leverage partners and drive innovation across the tech ecosystem

About you:

• 7+ years of experience in operations, strategy, or portfolio management roles
• Proven ability to operate with high capacity and throughput, managing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes
• Demonstrated experience driving process optimization, efficiency gains, and continuous improvement across teams or organizations
• Strong ability to analyze, synthesize, and translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
• Experience connecting financial, operational, and execution data to inform decision-making
• Ability to identify patterns, surface risks, and drive proactive solutions, not just reactive reporting
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including VP leadership
• Excellent verbal, written, and facilitation skills with the ability to tell clear, compelling stories
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive outcomes in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, not just authority
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong ownership and accountability
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency with M365 suite/Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Understanding of technology, applications, and platforms
• Retail or enterprise-scale environment experience preferred

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
