Job Title : Lead Software Engineer
The Purpose of This Role
SPS (Stock Plan Services) within the Workplace Investing (WI) Technology organization is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Lead Database Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise-scale database and data integration solutions.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, database engineering, and data integration to build scalable, reliable, and high-performing data solutions that support critical business processes and customer experiences. You will work closely with business partners, application engineering teams, and production support organizations to deliver trusted data platforms while ensuring operational excellence.

- Deliver highly performant, scalable, and reliable database and data integration solutions.
- Design and develop enterprise-grade Oracle database applications, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data processing frameworks.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and availability across business-critical applications and platforms.
- Improve operational stability through proactive monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Optimize database performance and large-scale data processing workloads through effective SQL tuning and performance engineering.
- Translate business requirements into efficient and maintainable data solutions.
- Establish and promote database engineering best practices, development standards, and reusable frameworks.
- Mentor and guide engineers through knowledge sharing, technical reviews, and engineering excellence initiatives.
- Reduce operational risk through robust controls, validation mechanisms, auditing processes, and preventive solutions.
- Deliver trusted data capabilities that enable informed business decisions and exceptional customer experiences.
The Skills that are Key to this Role
- 5-8 years of experience in Database Development, Data Engineering, or ETL development.
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and advanced SQL, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and ETL development.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and relational database concepts.
- Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica, SnapLogic, or similar tools.
- Experience with Oracle, PLSQL and enterprise database technologies.
- Knowledge of data integration, data quality, validation, reconciliation, and auditing processes.
- Familiarity with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices.
- Ability to design and deliver scalable, high-performance database and data solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence across teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to a high-performing engineering culture.
- Exposure to containerization technologies and cloud deployment models.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms.
