Overview

We are seeking a Lead for Sales, Retail & Order-to-Delivery Systems to own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of technology platforms that support Scout Motors’ commercial transaction, sales planning, retail operations, and order-to-delivery capabilities. This role will lead a portfolio spanning order management, order submission, retail operations systems, sales planning, S&OP enablement, transportation management, retail finance integrations, and delivery readiness.

This is a hands-on domain expert role responsible for ensuring Scout’s sales and retail technology ecosystem can support a direct-to-consumer operating model while integrating effectively with ERP, corporate systems, Digital Products, logistics, finance, and retail operations. The role will help convert business processes into scalable systems that are launch-ready, operationally supportable, and aligned to enterprise architecture.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Sales, Retail, and Order-to-Delivery systems supporting order management, retail operations, sales planning, transportation, delivery, and commercial transaction workflows.
  • Lead technology planning and delivery for order management capabilities, including order capture, order submission, bulk order processing, ETA/status needs, Monroney-related requirements, and downstream integration with SAP and other systems.
  • Support S&OP as a major workstream within the Sales and Order-to-Delivery domain, ensuring technology capabilities align to demand planning, forecasting, allocation, fulfillment, and commercial planning needs.
  • Partner with Sales Operations, Retail Operations, Logistics, Finance, Digital Product, ERP, Data, Platform Engineering, and other stakeholders to manage dependencies and drive delivery decisions.
  • Evaluate system options, vendor solutions, integration approaches, and process fit for retail operations, transportation management, retail finance, and order-to-delivery capabilities.
  • Ensure all Sales, Retail, and Order-to-Delivery solutions align with enterprise architecture, platform standards, data governance, security requirements, release management, and operational readiness expectations.
  • Exercise independent judgment on significant and unique technology issues, including decisions involving competing business priorities, architectural constraints, operational risk, and incomplete information.
  • Make recommendations and decisions that shape Sales, Retail, and Order-to-Delivery technology objectives and may affect the broader Corporate Technology function.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • The role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Fremont, California or Charlotte, North Carolina.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

We expect all Scout employees to have integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and strive to exhibit a positive attitude, as well as a growth mindset. You’ll be comfortable with change and flexible in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You’ll take a collaborative approach to achieve ambitious goals. Here's what else you'll bring:

  • Proven track record delivering business-critical IT systems in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Strong understanding of sales operations, retail operations, order management, logistics, S&OP, or commercial transaction systems.
  • Experience supporting or implementing systems such as OMS, CRM, ERP, TMS, retail operations tools, planning systems, or customer transaction platforms.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system capabilities, data flows, integration needs, delivery plans, and support models.
  • Experience working across commercial business teams, Digital Product, enterprise architecture, data, integration, security, and operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex cross-functional processes into clear system decisions.
  • Ability to manage vendor evaluations, RFI/RFP activities, solution design, implementation planning, and delivery execution.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with senior business and IT leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, engineering, supply chain, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in IT, commercial systems, business systems analysis, product delivery, or solution delivery; automotive, retail, or DTC experience preferred.
