This role analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to design, integrate and implement new or existing information systems. Maintains and provides expertise in assigned system(s) to support Information Technology and their customers.
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads medium to large multi-resource projects to successful completion, preparing project estimates, directing, and coordinating development and technical installation of information systems by defining technical design and development work to be completed. Establishes work plans for completion of assigned projects and coordinates technical work efforts across IT areas for assigned projects, ensuring solutions comply with architectural standards and established SDLC methodologies that meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Supports and develops Application Developers by providing technical advice, coaching, and mentorship. Analyzes functional requirements, identify options for meeting those requirements, and recommends a course of action. Implements application changes that consider business functionality, optimal application performance, and the current technical operating environment. Builds codes, plans, and successfully performs unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution as well as compliance to the business and technical requirements. Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other to support project efforts. Participate in business workshops to understand requirements, identify the integration points and work with the required resources from other teams to create detailed system design documentation. Coordinate teams for integration testing. User Acceptance testing and identify all resources and steps required for production cut over and go live. Identify opportunities to learn and leverage new technologies to provide better solutions to business and provide required support. Uses system traces and debugging tools for problem determination and system tuning. Participates in structured technical and functional walkthroughs of specifications and programming logic with project team members. Follows procedures for change control in a manner that ensures that production systems are not adversely affected by development and test activities SCOPE & IMPACT: Requires a higher level of experience, expertise, and responsibility than the Software Developer. Represents Information Technologies on teams and provides consulting on the future direction of International company initiatives pertaining to business processes and IT Systems. This role is a liaison between the business and IT, supporting initiatives that impact business effectiveness and productivity across the organization, which may include support functions (HR, Finance & Accounting, Strategy, etc.), Retail Stores, Regional Distribution Centers, and Commercial, and other businesses including Joybird and Casegoods. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Business Administration or related field with 2 - 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent. Supervisory/Leadership experience. Experience using JAVA and SQL technology. Experience using JD Edwards development methodology Ability to effectively work with both technical staff and business process owners. Strong oral and written communication skills. Problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and independently. Strong documentation skills. Teamwork and Interpersonal skills. Experience in multiple ETL tool sets. English intermediate proficiency. Up to 10% Travel Required. PREFERED REQUIREMENTS: MIS and/or MBA. Additional experience and knowledge related to some of the following is expected: SQL, XML, EDI, .Net ,3rd party integrations and tools, .Workday, KRONOS, WODOCS, and ADP. JD Edwards Application Development Certification SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Up to one (1) direct report.
