About the role
We're looking for a Lead Brand Designer, Web, to shape how people experience the Checkr brand across all marketing surfaces. You'll partner closely with Marketing and Revenue, own our web brand standards, and bring a strong point of view on customer needs and business outcomes to every design decision.
What you'll do
- Design brand-forward web experiences that are polished, on-brand, and grounded in customer and business outcomes, across all marketing surfaces.
- Own and evolve brand standards, guidelines, and design systems for web.
- Scope design initiatives and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects and timelines.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing and Revenue to maintain brand consistency across all web touchpoints.
- Provide creative direction and feedback to other designers on web/brand projects.
- Present and advocate for design decisions clearly and persuasively, from peers to senior leadership.
- Identify, hypothesize, and run ongoing user testing to evolve the web experience.
- Ground design decisions in a deep understanding of customer personas and the end-to-end user experience.
What you bring
- 7+ years of in-house or agency experience on tech or B2B brands.
- An outstanding portfolio demonstrating mastery of typography, layout, storytelling, and art direction.
- Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, plus experience using AI-assisted tools to accelerate production.
- Deep knowledge of information architecture, usability, accessibility, and UI/UX best practices.
- A systems-minded approach to building templates and reusable assets other teams can rely on.
- Experience developing brand standards and directing contractor or freelance creative work.
- A strong point of view and high craft standards, with the confidence to present and defend your work to senior leadership.
- Track record managing multiple concurrent projects in fast-moving, iterative environments where the brief isn't always perfect.
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Nice to have
- Front-end fluency (HTML/CSS), enough to prototype or QA your own work in-browser.
- Illustration, photography, or art direction experience.
- Experience in HR tech, trust and safety, or identity verification products.
- Experience mentoring or giving creative direction to other designers.

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. At Checkr, we believe an in office work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO; San Francisco, CA; Nashville, TN; and Santiago, Chile. Individuals are expected to work from the office 3+ days a week. In-office perks are provided, such as lunch five times a week, a commuter stipend, and an abundance of snacks and beverages. A relocation stipend may be available for those willing to relocate to a Checkr hub location.
