About the role 

The Kitchen Intern supports the culinary team in the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality dishes while gaining hands-on experience in a professional luxury kitchen. Working under the guidance of the culinary team, the intern will develop essential cooking techniques, learn food safety and hygiene standards, and gain a comprehensive understanding of daily kitchen operations. This internship is ideal for culinary students eager to build their skills, gain practical experience, and develop their career in a dynamic hospitality environment. 

What you will do 

• Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, cutting, weighing, and portioning ingredients, following the guidance of the culinary team. 

• Support the preparation of mise en place and the plating and presentation of dishes during daily operations. 

• Rotate through different kitchen sections to gain a comprehensive understanding of culinary operations. 

• Learn and apply cooking techniques, preparation methods, and presentation standards under the supervision of experienced chefs. 

• Label, date, store, and handle food products correctly in accordance with established procedures. 

• Support the receiving, organization, and proper storage of ingredients and raw materials. 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas. 

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times. 

• Collaborate with the culinary team during preparation and service, demonstrating initiative and willingness to learn. 

• Uphold Four Seasons’ standards of quality, excellence, and professionalism. 

What you bring 

• Culinary Education: Currently studying Culinary Arts, Gastronomy, or a related field, with the possibility of establishing an internship agreement with an educational institution.  

• Passion for Culinary Arts: Genuine interest in developing a culinary career within a luxury hospitality or high-end restaurant environment.  

• Willingness to Learn: Enthusiastic and curious approach to learning new cooking techniques, processes, and kitchen operations.  

• Proactive Attitude: Initiative and readiness to support the team and take on new tasks and responsibilities.  

• Teamwork Skills: Ability to work collaboratively, follow instructions, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced kitchen environment.  

• Attention to Quality: Commitment to maintaining high standards of preparation, presentation, cleanliness, and organization.  

• Food Safety Awareness: Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety principles and willingness to consistently follow established procedures.  

• Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to different kitchen sections, shifts, and service requirements.  

• Service-Oriented Mindset: Positive attitude and genuine desire to learn and develop within the hospitality industry.  

• Legal right to work in Spain.  

 

Degree: Currently studying Culinary Arts, Gastronomy, or a related field. 

Languages: Fluency in spoken English or Spanish.

Schedule & Hours: Seasonal contract, full Time, 40 hours per week, with consecutive and rotating shifts (including early mornings, days, evenings and weekends).
