Junos-EVO OS Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

We are seeking an experienced Junos-EVO OS Infrastructure Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug the core software infrastructure that powers the HPE Junos-Evolved network operating system.

In this role, you will build and enhance software layers that provide differentiated performance, scalability, reliability, and functionality for advanced networking products. You will work across operating systems, embedded Linux environments, compilers, domain-specific languages, networking, and router software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for operating systems, networking platforms, routers, utilities, compilers, and related infrastructure.

• Build the core infrastructure middleware layers that enable differentiated performance and capabilities in the HPE Junos-Evolved network operating system.

• Develop software using C++ and Python in embedded Linux environments.

• Design and implement domain-specific languages and related compiler technologies.

• Evaluate hardware compatibility and provide technical input that may influence hardware and system architecture.

• Review software designs and project activities for compliance with development standards, guidelines, and quality requirements.

• Provide actionable feedback to improve product quality, reliability, maintainability, and risk mitigation.

• Define and apply effective software testing methodologies, including test plans, debugging strategies, test scripts, and automation tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance networking solutions.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers.

• Apply AI-agent technologies to software development and engineering workflows, with a focus on reliability, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.

• Drive innovation in software systems design and development through new architectures, technologies, and engineering practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

• Typically 15 or more years of experience in software development and systems design.

• Extensive experience designing and developing software using C++ and Python in embedded Linux environments.

• Experience designing, implementing, or integrating domain-specific languages and compilers.

• Experience developing or applying AI agents with an emphasis on reliability and robust performance.

• Strong understanding of router architecture and software systems for networking products and solutions.

• Experience developing and executing software test plans, debugging software, and creating test scripts and tools.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated history of innovation, including patents, deployed solutions, or significant contributions to software design and architecture.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the applicable local language.
