Job Posting: Logistics Coordinator - Inbound
Availability: Full-Time with the ability to work mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends and holidays.

Reporting to the Freight Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for effectively transporting materials to customers, ensuring service requirements are met while optimizing costs. The role focuses on delivering and maintaining a high level of service to customers through proactive communication and providing transparency throughout the transportation process. Working with the distribution team, the Logistics Coordinator will participate in leading and executing transportation projects to improve both operational results and service levels to customers.

What you do (responsibilities):
- Coordinate Inbound transportation activities between operations and vendors via Road and Rail
- Coordinate export shipments between procurement and operations to other Lush Global Markets
- Monitor transportation services and execute according to contract standards
- Monitor service provider performance and level set expectations to meet customer requirements
- Partner with the carrier representative and operations in resolving transportation-related issues
- Identify and monitor carrier transportation performance results against benchmarks
- Partner with the inbound logistics coordinator to cultivate strategic partnerships with transportation service providers
- Review forecast and capacity requirements to ensure transportation providers can execute freight volumes
- Represent the ethics and culture of the Lush brand
- Obtain and compare spot freight quotes, sourcing carrier options based on pricing, transit time, service level, and availability when established rates or carriers are unavailable or require review
- Arrange pickups with carriers and provide shipment references, dates, times, and any special handling or facility requirements
- Create Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other transportation documentation when required
- Proactively follow up with carriers for pickup confirmations, ETAs, transit updates, delivery confirmations, PODs, and outstanding shipment information
- Communicate receiving-hour changes, holiday schedules, warehouse or facility closures, and other operational updates to affected transportation providers
- Assist in determining whether freight should move by Road or Rail based on cost, timing, shipment requirements, and available service options
- Support Dangerous Goods (DG), bonded, urgent, oversized, unusual, or other specialized shipments requiring additional research, documentation, or coordination
- Provide backup support for Ocean and Air transportation activities during team absences, vacations, or as required
Administrative & Other Functions:
- Initiate loss claims or refunds with transportation providers per contract standards
- Monitor and track all inbound shipments within North America
- Maintain and update the inbound transportation file daily
- Book delivery appointments
- Work with our community donations team to look for spot quotes and arrange shipments.
- Ensure the invoices are correct and sent in a timely manner.
- Establish transportation SOPs to ensure shipments are compliant with the transportation SLA
- Provide meaningful commentary to customers and stakeholders relating to transportation results
- Attend carrier meetings and other transportation or cost-related meetings when required, and provide relevant shipment information and operational feedback

- Work collaboratively with other areas of the business
- Proactively identifies solutions to potential problems to guarantee service level agreements are achieved
- Responsible for hitting key performance indicators (KPI), including on-time delivery scores and freight spend
Who you are (qualifications):
Required:
- LUSH distribution experience required
- Has held their current role successfully for one year
- At least one year of direct experience working in the supply chain
- At least one year of direct experience in freight/transportation
- Strong understanding of transportation metrics and how they can support supply chain objectives
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and resourceful when dealing with issues and challenges
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with others at all levels within the organization
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and dynamic environment
- Proactive in research and self-development to provide best-in-class knowledge with industry standards and trends
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-directed and driven to achieve desired results
- Service-oriented with keen attention to detail and diligent in follow-up
- Proficient with Excel, Google Sheets
Preferred:
- College diploma or University degree in Business, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain
- Knowledgeable in transportation laws and regulations
- Experience with all modes of transportation
- Proficient in project management, vendor evaluations, and process improvement
