Aleph Alpha’s mission is to deliver sovereign, human-centric AI to governmental institutions and large enterprises. To that end, we deliver category-defining AI innovation that enables open, accessible, and trustworthy deployment of GenAI in industrial applications. Our organization develops foundational models and next-generation methods that make it easy and affordable for Aleph Alpha’s customers to increase productivity in development, engineering, logistics, and manufacturing processes.

The role

As an intern in the CRO office in a wide range of strategic and operational projects, such as supporting communications, tech-org enablement or evaluations of our offerings. The role offers a unique proximity to state-of-the-art GenAI research, and you will be able to work with some of the brightest scientists in the field.

You’ll contribute to a breadth of initiatives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; one week, you might be supporting our model release pipeline; another week, you’ll be helping coordinate blog posts and conference talks.

We are looking for working students or full-time interns for a duration of 6 months or longer, starting as soon as possible in our Heidelberg or Berlin office. Please indicate your preferred location in your application. The position is open for gap year or end-of-study interns.

Who you are

• Previous experience in a fast-paced environment such as consulting, tech, venture capital, high-growth startups, or similar. Alternatively, if you’ve built an impressive project or company, we’d love to hear about it in your application.

• We welcome applicants from a wide range of educational backgrounds (incl. business, engineering, natural sciences, …). A finished Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is nice to have, but not required.

• You are a versatile generalist who can jump on any topic and get things done!

• You have an entrepreneurial self-starter mindset and an ability to work under uncertainty.

• You are humble, self-aware, and a team player.

• Fluent in English, German is a plus.

Your responsibilities:

As an Intern, you can be asked to work on almost any subject, for example:

• Strategic projects: Drive a number of strategically important topics such as initiatives to boost our talent pipeline, community-growth efforts, and extension of our project management framework.

• Internal & external communication: Develop high-quality material for internal and external stakeholders that concisely communicates our mission, research, and results.

• Cross-department alignment: Co-design and implement processes that foster an open information exchange across departments.
