This internship is designed for students who are curious, motivated, and eager to learn while making a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 

Throughout the internship, you will work on real business initiatives, collaborate with team members and leaders, develop professional skills, and contribute to projects that support Cencora's purpose of creating healthier futures.

Interns will gain a broad understanding of Cencora’s Health Systems and Government Services business, including supply chain operations, customer solutions, account management, finance, commercial strategy, and cross-functional business operations.

Role Overview

This internship supports the Sales and Support team within Cencora’s Health Systems and Government Services organization by engaging interns in meaningful work aligned to operational, sales, customer, and strategic priorities. Interns will contribute to business-sponsored projects that may include customer support, sales enablement, account management, contract-related initiatives, process improvement, data analysis, and decision-support resources. The experience is designed to build a conversion-ready early talent pipeline for future Sales and Support Trainee opportunities while allowing interns to explore career paths across healthcare distribution, sales, operations, and account management.

This structured 10-week paid internship is designed for undergraduate students to develop foundational business, sales, operational, analytical, and professional skills through formal training, distribution center experiences, networking opportunities, mentorship, and project-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Account Management, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and other Health Systems and Government Services business teams.
• Lead or support a 10-week business-impacting project focused on business process improvement, customer solutions, operational effectiveness, sales enablement, or decision-support resources.
• Gather and analyze data, assess current processes, identify trends or gaps, and develop recommendations that support team and organizational objectives.
• Assist with customer, contract, sales, account management, and operational initiatives that help improve customer experience, business visibility, and team effectiveness.
• Prepare and present final project findings, recommendations, and business impact to stakeholders and leaders at the conclusion of the internship.
• Participate in professional development, networking, mentorship, onboarding activities, mid-summer evaluation, final evaluation, and conversion planning conversations.

Education and Experience

• Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accounting, sales, marketing, computer science, healthcare administration, supply chain, or a similar field.
• Suitable for undergraduate students seeking hands-on exposure to healthcare distribution, sales, operations, and account management.
• Demonstrates initiative in professional development and business curiosity by staying informed about the industry, marketplace changes, and company resources.
• Rising sophomore, junior, or senior at the time of the internship preferred 

• Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.

• Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and a self-starter mindset.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and follow-through.
• May require occasional travel to onsite meetings, distribution center experiences, or training.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong willingness to learn, including accepting and implementing feedback from various sources.
• Capacity to learn from and apply a wide variety of business disciplines to support Cencora customers.
• Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive information and develop strategies or recommendations in response to marketplace changes.
• Strong creativity, focus, and discipline.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common presentation tools.

Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
