This MSc thesis project will explore the Large Language Model use cases across Shell’s technology organization and analyse how the ways of working have been changing with introduction of LLMs and AI methods in general. The thesis will approach the issue mainly from the end-user perspective rather than focusing on the code development. Some aspects to study are types of tasks that can

be automated, how much human intervention is still required, how have the roles changed due to integration of bots in daily tasks. 

 

The MSc project will start with a literature review on how the LLMs have evolved in the last decade, types of LLMs, main developers of LLMs and how much they have integrated in the Corporate projects. The student will then run semi-structured interviews with Shell’s Technology teams who make use of LLMs in their daily projects. The questions aim to understand how the ways of working have changed due to this integration.
