Intern – AI Engineer, Enterprise AI & Workflow Automation – Plymouth, MN – Summer 2027

Are you interested in an Internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in paid intern opportunities at our site in Plymouth, MN. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.

Your role:

AI Solution Development

• Design, build, test, and optimize AI agents and conversational AI experiences using Microsoft Copilot Studio, including prompts, instructions, grounding, and knowledge sources.
• Support AI agent workflows and troubleshoot solutions to improve effectiveness and user experience.

Data & Systems Integration

• Connect AI solutions to enterprise data sources including SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Teams, Power BI, and Azure-based repositories, supporting data preparation, transformation, and validation.
• Support Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions that leverage internal business content and enterprise data.

Process Automation

• Develop automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and related technologies to streamline business processes and reduce manual activities.
• Identify opportunities to create scalable, repeatable solutions that improve productivity and reduce administrative burden.

Analytics & Value Measurement

• Develop dashboards and reporting to measure solution adoption, user feedback, and business impact, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Support business cases and recommendations for broader deployment of successful AI solutions.

Documentation & Change Enablement

• Document solution architecture, workflows, and deployment processes, while creating user guides, training materials, and enablement content.
• Support governance, compliance, and operational readiness activities for AI solutions.

You're the right fit if:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience with one or more programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, C#, or SQL, and a basic understanding of data structures and data management.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI, as well as Azure cloud technologies.

• Experience or academic exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agent development, APIs, or system integrations.

• Familiarity with Git, source control, and agile development practices.

• Experience developing personal, academic, or open-source AI projects.

• Experience working with APIs and system integrations.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The hourly pay range for this position is $26.00 to $36.00, plus overtime eligible. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Plymouth, MN.
