Our Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for an Installation Technician to provide on-site technical support for customer aircraft brought to the facility for maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and modification activities. You will report directly to the Flight Operations Manager and have an onsite work schedule in Mineral Wells, TX.  Moog Avionics delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Avionics, Aviation Maintenance, Electronics Technology, or a related field; or
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
• Minimum of three years of avionics experience supporting general aviation and helicopter aircraft; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of tools and equipment commonly used in aircraft avionics installation and maintenance, including hand tools, test equipment and soldering equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with analog and digital avionics systems and interfaces.
• Knowledge of avionics component integration, compatibility requirements, and applicable FAA regulations governing aircraft certifications and airworthiness.
• Ability to produce high-quality work that meets industry and company standards for general aviation aircraft.

Preferred Qualifications:

• FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
• Pilot’s License.
• Additional experience supporting aircraft certification projects, conformity inspections, autopilot systems, and EFIS installations.
• Experience working within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve discrepancies involving advanced avionics systems.
• Perform avionics equipment and system installations in accordance with approved engineering data and applicable regulations.
• Interpret and apply mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation documents.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable FAA regulations, AC 145 Repair Station requirements, company procedures, and safety standards.
• Manage aircraft induction, inspection, maintenance, and documentation activities throughout the repair or installation process.
• Coordinate the procurement and tracking of parts, components, brackets, and units required to support repair and installation activities.
• Perform Company Conformity Inspections, when authorized and required.
• Receive and inspect mechanical and electrical components used in certification and installation projects.
• Inspect autopilot, EFIS, and related avionics installations to verify compliance with approved design data and certification requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance, inspection, installation, and conformity activities.
• Support and promote a safe work environment by following established safety policies, reporting hazards, and participating in accident investigations as necessary.
