JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is looking for a Tax Analyst II to join our growing tax department. We are looking for an analytical candidate with attention to detail along with organizational and time management skills. This person will primarily prepare and file income tax returns and handle all processes surrounding those filings. Depending upon the current and future skills of the candidate, this position will grow into special projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to join a high performing and engaged tax team.

This position provides the opportunity to work within a hybrid schedule framework, blending in-office collaboration Monday - Thursday with the convenience of remote work on Friday. Please note that this flexibility is extended to enhance our team's work-life balance and is subject to business needs and performance.

Job Profile Summary

Performs complex analysis, preparation, documentation, and filing of various tax documents relative to tax compliance and planning.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Research, prepare, analyze, coordinate, review, and document information related to recurring responsibilities such as monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings
• Develop and coordinate various tax and financial strategies to ensure compliance with the laws and regulations of various governmental authorities
• Analyze and document federal, state and local tax legislation and judicial activity in order to regulate and ensure specific and effective tax applications for the company
• Provide guidance and information related to proposed or enacted tax regulations and legislation; tax procedures; and tax preparation and/or planning to employees, management, and others
• Provide guidance, training and/or coaching to employees; assist in determining work priorities and job assignments; and monitor and evaluate employee performance (specified by position)
• Assist in development and maintenance of applicable micro and/or mainframe programs used in tax accounting activities

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or other related field

Work Experience

• Experience in the areas of tax and/or financial accounting for a minimum of 1 year
• Experience in use and function of office equipment including microcomputers and applicable software and accessing mainframe applications
• Experience and/or training related to:
  • Midstream oil & gas accounting
  • Communication/interpersonal skills
• Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing complex tax data, return forms, related studies, reports and filings
• Experience reading and interpreting company correspondence, reports, accounting and tax-related publications, return forms, contracts, ledgers, manuals, and legal documents

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of: tax policies and procedures
• Ability to: apply math skills used to calculate various tax applications
• Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information and instructions
