Major Accountabilities:

1. Identify and select appropriate mechanical components for hardware and product engineering projects.
2. Design and optimize thermal management systems to ensure proper heat dissipation and thermal performance of mechanical components.
3. Perform structural analysis to evaluate the strength, durability, and integrity of mechanical structures and components.
4. Use analytical methods and finite element analysis (FEA) tools to assess structural performance.
5. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings.
6. Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
7. Conduct FMEA to identify potential failure modes of mechanical systems and components.
8. Define geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to ensure proper fit, form, and function of mechanical components.
9. Drive innovations and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance mechanical design processes and product performance.
10. Apply knowledge of mechanical engineering processes and methodologies to execute projects effectively.
11. Follow established MCAD engineering processes and workflows to develop and validate mechanical designs.
12. Design and simulate plastic components using BOD (Behavior Object Description) and DDS (Data Distribution Service) tools.
13. Design mechanical enclosures and housings to ensure electromagnetic compatibility and minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI).
14. Specify optical components and interfaces for integration into mechanical systems and assemblies.
15. Follow ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) processes and guidelines for mechanical engineering projects.
16. Utilize Polarion or similar tools for requirements management, traceability, and documentation.
