Position Description

Voyager Technologies is seeking an experienced and strategically minded Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as the dedicated people partner for one of Voyager's core business divisions. Reporting to the Senior Director, HR Business Partners, this role is the critical link between the business and the broader HR function, translating division-level goals into actionable people strategies while ensuring employees and leaders have the day-to-day HR support they need to perform at their best.

As an HRBP at Voyager, you will be embedded in your business unit - attending leadership meetings, advising organizational decisions, leading complex employee relations matters, and partnering with HR Centers of Excellence to bring the right programs, tools, and talent strategies to your client group. You will be expected to know your business deeply, speak the language of your leaders, and bring HR solutions that are practical, compliant, and mission-aligned.

The ideal candidate is a confident HR advisor with the presence to influence leaders, the judgment to navigate ambiguity, and the drive to build something meaningful in a high-growth environment.

Reporting Structure & Location

This role reports to the Senior HR Director, HR Business Partnerships and sits within the People department. The position is onsite, based out of San Diego, CA and will have multi-site responsibility.

What You'll Do

Strategic People Leadership

• Serve as a key member of the Site Leadership Team, partnering with leaders to develop and execute a long-term people strategy aligned to business priorities
• Champion Voyager Technologies’ culture, values, and behaviors, creating an inclusive, engaging, and high-performance work environment.
• Partner with leaders to identify and solve complex people and organizational challenges, developing and implementing targeted strategies including engagement and retention initiatives.

Employee Relations

• Lead employee matters, including investigations, grievances, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes
• Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with plant stakeholders and employees
• Coach leaders to strengthen frontline leadership capability and reduce risk through effective people management.

Talent, Capability & Organization

• Own workforce planning, staffing strategy, performance management, succession planning, and leadership development for the site.
• Partner with leaders to build organizational capability and support change initiatives.
• Partner with business leaders on organizational design, including organizational structure, roles, spans of control, and workforce alignment to support evolving business needs.

Change & Continuous Improvement

• Support the people and change management aspects of Voyager’s site operating system and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Enable disciplined routines, standard work, and leadership behaviors that support sustainable adoption of new ways of working.
• Use people data and metrics to identify trends, measure progress, and drive targeted improvement actions.

HR Operations & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with employment law, company policies, and HR processes.
• Maintain accurate HR data and support reporting/analytics.
• Accurately process employee payroll
• Partner with centers of excellence (COEs).

Travel

• Must be able to travel between multiple sites, as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a dedicated HR Business Partner role supporting a specific business unit or client group.
• Experience working with a highly technical/engineering-heavy and manufacturing workforce.
• Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law compliance; California experience strongly preferred.
• Experience partnering with HR COEs to deliver integrated people solutions within a business unit.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms (ADP, Workday, or similar) and comfort generating and interpreting workforce data.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze workforce data, create reports, utilize formulas, and translate data into actionable business insights.
• High degree of professional discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.

Preferred

• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
• Experience working with ADP and WorkDay
• Experience supporting HR in a government contracting, defense, aerospace, or national security environment.
• Familiarity with DCAA compliance and OFCCP obligations.

The good faith base salary range for this role is $125,000–$155,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
