We’re seeking someone to join our team as an experienced Vice President - HR Strats / Data Engineer in Bengaluru to lead HR Service Delivery automation initiative to drive smarter workforce decisions. This role partners closely with senior business leaders, HR, and Technology to build scalable, data-driven solutions that improve how HR operates and delivers insight to the business. The individual will drive Process Optimization, AI Adoption, and Operational Transformation in HR. This role partners with senior Business, COO, HR, and Technology leadership to identify high-impact opportunities, accelerate GenAI adoption, and build data-driven solutions that power decision-making — combining consulting-style problem solving with hands-on technical depth.

In the Human Capital Management division, we provide advice and insight to attract, retain, reward and develop a talented global workforce, giving employees the support and tools, they need to succeed. This is a Vice President level position within the HR Employee Services team which provides day-to-day support and strategic advice to stakeholders across the entire employee life cycle, including but not limited to compensation processes, employee relations, performance evaluation, talent management and diversity & inclusion initiatives.

What you'll do in the role:

• Design, build, test, and deploy internal HR applications and tools with user interfaces, business logic, workflow, and data.
• Lead core business/HR process cycles (compensation, workforce planning, talent reviews) end-to-end.
• Own the full product and development lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through architecture, implementation, and ongoing enhancement.
• Develop backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations that connect HR applications to enterprise data platforms and source systems using Python, SQL, Snowflake, and other approved enterprise technologies.
• Partner with senior business leadership, HR, and technology teams to translate workforce and operating needs into product requirements, technical designs, and prioritized roadmaps.
• Apply software engineering practices including version control, code review, automated testing, deployment controls, and observability.
• Evaluate and deploy emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI, AI agents, workflow automation) to enhance HR’s analytical and operational capabilities.
• Build cross-functional relationships, influencing stakeholders across units and geographies.
• Develop and maintain production-grade HR applications and reusable services, with clear ownership for reliability, performance, security, and user experience.
• Create intuitive end user interfaces and workflow experiences for HR processes.
• Integrate applications with governed HR and workforce data, implementing validation, access controls, auditability, and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
• Work directly with users to prototype solutions, gather feedback, prioritize enhancements, and drive adoption.
• Improve application architecture and development practices, and stay current on cloud, software engineering, data platform, and AI capabilities relevant to HR.
• Stay current on cloud platforms, data engineering practices, and AI/ML capabilities relevant to HR.

What you'll bring to the role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another quantitative discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in hands-on delivery of software applications, internal tools, or workflow products used by business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into clear insights and recommendations.
• Strong Python and SQL development skills, with experience applying Python in production applications, services, or data workflows.
• Experience with web application architecture, APIs, source control, testing frameworks, and modern software development practices.
• Strong understanding of data governance, controls, and model validation.
• Strong communicator who can translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders and turn ambiguous business problems into working products.
• Comfort operating across HR domains and partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• 5+ years in Consulting, Transformation, Automation, AI Enablement, or Operational Excellence.
• Track record of leading cross-functional programs and driving measurable outcomes at scale.
• Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or AI certifications desirable.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS) is an advantage.
• At least 10 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
