Mission:
As HR Business Partner Germany, you are the trusted partner of directors and managers in Germany on all people topics. You anticipate people issues rather than react to them, you bring an informed point of view to business decisions, and you make sure our practices remain compliant with German labour law. You work closely with the HR operations and Talent Acquisition teams and with the group-wide People team, which spans France, the UK and Ireland, Germany, Canada, Australia and the Philippines. You report to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Requirements
What you will do:
Business partnering
- Advise directors and managers on organizational design, employee relations, people performance and development.
- Identify people issues and trends early, and build solutions with your stakeholders before they escalate.
- Support manager development and employee enablement initiatives, building on the change experience of our German teams.
Employee lifecycle and HR operations
- Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers in Germany, including advice on HR policies, processes and labour law compliance.
- Manage HR administration, including contract management, employee relations and legal documentation.
- Ensure a smooth onboarding process, working with Talent Acquisition on the preparation of employment contracts and the integration of new employees.
- Support the offboarding process so that all exit formalities are handled efficiently.
HR policies and compliance
- Ensure compliance with German labour law and company policies, and advise managers and employees accordingly.
- Track changes in HR regulations and implement the necessary policy updates.
- Manage HR documentation and ensure the accuracy of employee data.
- Handle complex labour law processes such as warnings, terminations and settlement agreements, in cooperation with external counsel.
- Manage absence and occupational health, including sick pay continuation, the reintegration process (BEM) and cooperation with the company doctor on preventive health checks and workplace risk assessments.
Collaboration with other teams
- Work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate and timely payroll, and provide the required HR data, including working time, on-call and overtime.
- Work with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure smooth recruitment processes.
- Manage the relationship with the works council (Betriebsrat) of the German entity, including information, consultation and co-determination processes.
HR projects and transformation
- Contribute to international HR initiatives and transformation projects that align HR strategies with business needs, including those linked to our AI-native transition.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives that strengthen a positive workplace culture, using survey results and people data.
- Support the implementation of HR systems and process improvements.
What you will bring:
- Around five years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist, ideally in an international and fast-paced company. Experience in a software or technology company is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of German labour law and hands-on experience working with a works council.
- The ability to build credibility with senior managers and to work autonomously as the main HR contact for Germany.
- Experience with HR systems and process improvement. Knowledge of BambooHR is a plus.
- Analytical, well organised and goal-oriented, able to manage several priorities at once.
- Ease with AI tools in your daily work, or a clear appetite to learn.
- Fluent German and English, written and spoken.
- Three days per week on site at our Munich office.
