Thomson Reuters · Híbrido · Sweden, Gothenburg

Job Description

Join a high-impact People Governance & Compliance team to deliver consistent, risk‑informed and scalable outcomes across jurisdictions.

We are transforming how HR operates - automating routine work, elevating employee and manager self-service, and using data to drive faster, smarter decisions. Our EMEA People Governance & Compliance team is at the heart of this change to enhance the overall employee experience.

As an HR Advisor, you will provide specialist operational support and day-to-day advisory on HR policies and processes. You will serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers in Sweden and the wider region, ensuring the effective application of HR fundamentals, risk mitigation, and compliance. Combining subject-matter expertise with sound judgment, you will actively contribute to a digitally enabled HR environment, leveraging AI and automation to drive efficiency and operational excellence.

This position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract and can be based in either Gothenburg or Stockholm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, accurate and policy‑aligned guidance to managers and employees on local HR policies and procedures
  • Build subject-matter expertise in a core compliance area (Immigration, Sickness & Occupational Health, or Leave & Family policies), ensuring consistent and legally robust advice in partnership with the EMEA Advisory team
  • Own and manage Tier 2 HR case management, handling more complex queries and escalations with strong judgement, ensuring consistent resolution, risk mitigation, and policy adherence
  • Support Employee Relations cases as a skilled and reliable note-taker, maintaining high-quality, confidential and audit-ready documentation
  • Partner with HRBPs and Advisory Teams to design and deliver training on HR policies, procedures, and Workday, strengthening manager capability and policy adherence
  • Act as a trusted contact for employee benefits queries, providing clear, accurate and responsive support
  • Support redundancy and restructuring processes through accurate preparation of documentation and calculations, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation
  • Provide support on Workday queries, guiding users effectively through processes and system use
  • Work closely with Payroll and Global HR Services to ensure employee lifecycle changes are processed accurately, consistently, and within agreed timelines
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, bringing a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on standardisation and scalability
  • Maintain employee records to the highest standards of data integrity and GDPR compliance
  • Actively champion the adoption of AI and approved digital tools, embedding them into daily HR practices to drive efficiency, insight, and improved employee experience

Required Qualifications

  • Min. 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist/Advisor, ideally in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Nordics labor law knowledge and understanding
  • Solid understanding of HR policies, procedures, and legal frameworks, with the ability to apply them confidently in practice
  • Strong judgement and attention to detail, particularly in handling sensitive cases and maintaining compliance standards
  • Hands-on experience with Workday or similar HR systems, with the ability to support and guide others
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate policy into clear, practical guidance
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Track record of implementing and reinforcing policy and compliance standards with credibility
  • Interest in AI, automation, and digital HR tools, with a proactive approach to learning and adoption
  • Swedish language capability required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, HR, or related field
  • Languages: Finnish language would be an asset

Why This Role?

  • Shape and strengthen HR governance and compliance across EMEA
  • Develop expertise in complex, high-impact HR topics
  • Be part of a digitally evolving HR function, leveraging AI to scale and modernise delivery
  • Grow into a trusted advisor role with increasing influence on risk management and decision quality
