Sobre esta vaga de Head of Production na That's No Moon Entertainment
That's No Moon is an independent studio of storytellers and game-makers who believe in the power of narrative-driven experiences. With a diverse team of talented developers, our shared vision is to create the future of AAA experiences with a culture of creativity, collaboration, and responsible production practices. Our passionate team of developers helps shape our studio, our projects, and our future.
We are seeking a Head of Production to lead our production discipline through current and future development of our AAA action-adventure games. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of a high-quality, narrative-driven experience while also bringing together, aligning, and empowering our production team as a cohesive, high-performing group.
As a key strategic and operational leader, you will define delivery strategy, set and uphold project management standards, and guide cross-functional execution across the studio. You will lead and mentor a team of senior managers (who manage producers across disciplines and strike teams) and ensure the production organization is operating efficiently, sustainably, and in support of the game’s creative vision.
This is a senior strategic and organizational leadership role requiring deep expertise in both late-stage and early-stage game production, strategic planning, people management, and the ability to steer a large, complex project toward completion at the highest quality. Near term focus will be on executing the existing production plan to ship our first title. Long-term goals will include solidifying the foundation for our production process for the next game and identifying and implementing key improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the supervising production lens for discipline leaders across the studio, giving them clear visibility into the delivery implications of their decisions and driving alignment across functions.
- Adopt and drive the existing production plan for closing the current game, while integrating incremental improvements and building a solid foundation for the initial development of the next title, and the overall production methodology for the studio.
- Maintain and improve the delivery strategy for the project (eg. how it is structured, phased, and executed through launch). Ensure product vision and roadmaps are translated into feasible development plans within time, budget, and resource constraints. Drive clarity around ownership, priorities, and handoffs across cross-functional teams.
- Evolve the production org structure, including how producers are deployed across content and disciplines. Own career development frameworks, leveling, and promotion standards for the discipline. Lead and develop Senior Managers and Production Leads, ensuring the production org operates as a cohesive, high-performing team.
- Set and uphold production standards across tooling, tracking, and milestone processes. Ensure consistent reporting on sprint and milestone burndowns, velocity metrics, and delivery risks to keep leadership informed and teams focused.
- Monitor project and team health across strike teams and departments, proactively identifying risks and building mitigation strategies. Champion rigorous project management discipline while creating space for creative iteration and problem-solving. Advocate for development practices that protect team wellbeing without compromising delivery.
- Own the production headcount budget and workforce plan, including contractor strategy, backfill decisions, and ramp planning, in partnership with Finance and Operations. Represent the production function in executive and publisher-facing forums, communicating project status, delivery risk, and strategic recommendations.
Requirements & Skills:
- Primary production leadership responsibility for a large-scale AAA project through the final phases from Alpha through Ship; Recent experience is a plus!
- Prior experience working with external publishing partners across regions and scale is a plus.
- Deep expertise in project management practices, milestone planning, risk mitigation, and production reporting to differing audiences.
- Strong operational leadership skills, able to set up and drive efficient, effective cross-functional workflows.
- Hands-on experience with production tools such as Jira, Perforce, Confluence, or similar.
- Exceptional team leadership and mentorship skills; proven success in managing other leads and developing talent within a production organization.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to balance creative needs with production realities, especially during polish and submission phases.
- Calm under pressure, highly adaptable, and able to drive alignment in complex and fast-moving environments.
