What You’ll Do
CoreWeave’s Hardware Quality organization is responsible for product enablement, factory operations, hardware reliability, and global manufacturing excellence across our supply base and fleet. We are looking for a Principal Engineer to own and lead the strategy and technical architecture connecting supplier data, manufacturing analytics, and product reliability into a single, coherent system of insight.
About the Role
This is a hands-on strategic role. You will define how supplier and factory data flows into decision-making, build the analytical backbone for manufacturing quality and reliability, and shape how reliability modeling informs product lifecycle strategy from NPI through EOL. You will operate at the intersection of hardware engineering, data architecture, and supply chain, translating fragmented supplier and factory signals into a unified quality and reliability narrative used by engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
Manufacturing Analytics
- Define and drive the strategy for capturing, standardizing, and integrating quality and process data from OxMs and component suppliers.
- Establish data contracts, quality gates, and integration patterns with suppliers to ensure timely, trustworthy, and actionable data flows.
- Architect an end-to-end analytics strategy spanning supplier, factory-floor, and field data, moving Hardware Quality from siloed reporting to a unified quality and reliability data platform.
- Enable the operating framework and modeling that connects supplier, manufacturer, and fleet insights into a unified, collaborative solution.
- Create scalable solutions and set technical direction in partnership with Supply Chain Transformation and Data Enablement teams.
Reliability Modeling
- Own the technical approach to reliability modeling across hardware components and systems, including failure-rate prediction, MTBF/MTTF analysis, Weibull analysis, and other lifetime distributions.
- Translate field and factory failure data into predictive reliability models that inform design margin, burn-in strategy, and warranty and spares planning.
- Define how quality, reliability, and supplier data inform decisions at each stage of the product lifecycle, from NPI readiness criteria through sustaining engineering, end-of-life, and cold-spares planning.
- Partner with PLM, engineering, and program management to embed data-driven gates and reliability checkpoints into lifecycle-stage transitions.
Leadership & Influence
- Serve as a senior technical voice for Hardware Quality, setting direction that other engineers and analysts execute against.
- Communicate complex technical strategy clearly to executive stakeholders, framing quality and reliability work in terms of business impact, including revenue protection, customer satisfaction, and cost avoidance.
- Mentor senior- and staff-level engineers and raise the technical bar for data and reliability work across the organization.
Who You Are
- 10+ years of experience in hardware quality, reliability engineering, manufacturing analytics, or a related field, with demonstrated Principal- or Staff-level scope.
- Deep expertise in reliability modeling and statistical methods, including Weibull analysis, MTBF/MTTF, accelerated life testing, and DPPM and yield analysis.
- A track record of building or architecting manufacturing and quality analytics platforms, not just using existing BI tools.
- Experience working directly with OxMs and component suppliers on data integration and quality data contracts.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management concepts, including NPI, ECR/ECO, sustaining, and EOL, and how data should inform lifecycle gates.
- Comfort operating without a fully built system; you can define the strategy, data model, and roadmap and influence others to build it.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to move fluidly between deep technical detail and executive-level narrative.
Preferred
- Experience in high-density compute, GPU, or data center hardware environments.
- Familiarity with PLM platforms.
- Background in statistical software and tooling, including Minitab, JMP, or Python/R for reliability analysis.
- Experience with cold-spares planning or hub-and-spoke supply chain models.

The starting salary will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and the market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).
