Sobre esta vaga de Head of Emerging Verticals na Paramount Commerce
We are Paramount Commerce, a leading fintech company that has been simplifying payments in Canada since the early 2000s. We process $5 billion annually for some of the world's largest gaming and cryptocurrency platforms across Interac, EFT and soon to be RTR rails. Our infrastructure sits at the centre of how money moves in Canada.
As we scale beyond our core historical verticals, we are expanding into new high-growth commercial markets. To maintain this growth momentum and free up executive capacity across the broader commercial organization, we are creating a dedicated strategic leadership role to own, scale, and commercialize our emerging vertical opportunities across Canada and beyond.
About the Role
The Head of Emerging Verticals & Strategic Growth will act as the executive owner and business builder responsible for taking emerging vertical strategies from opportunity identification to meaningful, long-term revenue contribution.
Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this role sits at the intersection of traditional sales execution and driving high-level strategy, product alignment, cross-functional coordination, and go-to-market execution. You will hold end-to-end accountability for unlocking non-core vertical growth, evaluating market dynamics, establishing operating rhythms, and establishing Paramount Commerce as a category leader across adjacent technology and fintech sectors.
What We're Looking For
1. Growth Strategy & Market Prioritization
- Strategic Growth Ownership: Define, execute, and continuously refine 12-, 24-, and 36-month strategic growth plans for non-core and emerging verticals.
- Market & Business Case Evaluation: Identify, assess, and prioritize new vertical opportunities, business cases, adjacent revenue streams, and go-to-market strategies.
- Product Investment Strategy: Analyze pipeline metrics and market feedback to steer high-level product feedback and advocate for necessary product investments.
- Direct Revenue Ownership: Hold direct accountability for a vertical revenue quota, driving end-to-end deal cycles from initial market strategy through to execution and revenue delivery in high-growth verticals.
2. Execution Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Operational Execution: Translate strategic vision into tangible commercial roadmaps, removing execution barriers across Product, Operations, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
- Governance & Accountability: Establish robust operating rhythms, KPI frameworks, performance management dashboards, and executive reporting for emerging vertical growth.
- Team Governance & Organization Design: Evaluate, guide and optimize the team’s pipeline delivery and vertical execution.
3. Commercialization & Executive Partnerships
- Strategic Partnerships: Lead high-level merchant and ecosystem discussions to accelerate market penetration and build strategic, repeatable deal frameworks.
- CRO Enablement: Act as the primary strategic operator for new growth, reducing operational execution dependency on the CRO and enabling executive leadership to focus on broader commercial scale.
- Commercial Support: Complement the core Business Development team by stepping into complex, high-value strategic opportunities and advisory functions.
Who You Are
Qualifications & Experience
- Strategic Operator Mindset: Proven track record as a business unit owner, strategic growth leader, General Manager, or Chief of Staff who balances big-picture vision with hands-on operational execution.
- Fintech & Payments Knowledge: Deep domain expertise within payments, fintech, banking ecosystems, or adjacent technology sectors.
- Proven Quota Attainment: Demonstrated track record of carrying and exceeding an individual or vertical revenue target while simultaneously driving long-term strategic initiatives.
- Strategic Seller Hybrid: Combination of high-performing enterprise and strategic business building—capable of commanding high-level executive meetings while deep-diving into product, market mechanics, and unit economics.
- Revenue Ownership: Demonstrated success growing multi-million dollar business lines or leading geographic/vertical market expansions.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Ability to align Product, Operations, Marketing, and Sales teams toward shared strategic and financial objectives.
