The Purpose

As our Head of Commercial, APAC, you’ll sit at the intersection of customer strategy, technical solutions and regional commercial leadership, helping OQC build and grow its presence across APAC.

You’ll develop trusted relationships with enterprise, government and strategic partners, identify new commercial opportunities and help customers understand where quantum computing can create value and how they can begin their adoption journey with OQC.

The Role

This is a senior, externally facing commercial leadership role combining regional business development, strategic account management and team leadership.

You’ll own the regional commercial pipeline, represent OQC with customers and partners, plus manage a team of Solution Architects.

Working closely with our Commercial Director and global Commercial, Product and technical teams, you’ll also ensure that insight from customers and the APAC market directly informs OQC’s product strategy and roadmap.

What You'll Be Working On

• Identifying and developing new commercial opportunities, strategic partnerships and routes to market across the private and public sectors.
• Owning the regional revenue pipeline, assessing opportunities and working with the Commercial Director to determine priorities and next steps.
• Building trusted, long-term relationships with customers and strategic partners, understanding their future plans and identifying where OQC can support their objectives.
• Leading, supporting and developing a team of Solution Architects, ensuring strong alignment between customer needs, technical solutions and commercial opportunities.
• Establishing a clear APAC commercial-to-product feedback loop, ensuring customer requirements, competitor intelligence, market signals and adoption barriers inform Product, Engineering and roadmap decisions.
• Representing OQC externally through customer pitches, strategic meetings, conferences and networking events, while keeping the Commercial Director and Executive Team informed of key opportunities, progress and market developments.
• Monitoring customer satisfaction, sector trends and regional market dynamics to strengthen customer lifecycle management and inform OQC’s positioning and commercial strategy.

What We're Looking For

• Strong commercial experience within the technology industry, with a track record of identifying and progressing commercial opportunities.
• Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with enterprise, government or strategic customers and partners.
• Experience managing competitive tenders and grant applications.
• Experience working closely with Product and technical teams to translate customer requirements into compelling commercial propositions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex technical and customer requirements for different audiences.
• Strong research, data analysis, presentation, networking, customer service, collaboration and influencing skills.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Business Management, Marketing or a related discipline.

The 'Nice-to-Haves'

• Experience working within deep technology, a high-growth technology scale-up or the quantum computing sector.
• Knowledge of machine learning, quantum applications or related emerging technologies.
• Experience using HubSpot or another CRM platform.
• Strong negotiation and public-speaking experience.
• Exposure to algorithm development.
